I used tstd.org and all went very well!

I know this has been a topic on the Discussion Board before, but my search came up empty.
Please let me know of places in the Chicago area that will do confidential testing for any sexually transmitted diseases.
Thanks for your help and information.

Love them!

But i did learn that going to be tested anonymously 3 blocks from your home is convenient but ... not anonymous :)

For adult entertainers (porn stars) AIM testing is required.  Its confidential.  Through their site, set up a test in downtown Chicago.  You will be given a number.  When your test results are ready, you get an email to sign in and review the results.  Its completely confidential and they will test for everything.  Website link attached.

Whatever the Sinful One says works for me.  In the past I've used stdtestexpress.com
which has been pretty reliable and speedy.  Same deal: seedy downtown lab with sullen people waiting to be tested.

This occurred late in 2009.  They screwed up my first test results and said they were concerned I might have syphilis and asked me to retest.  After the second test, I was called and told the test, although not certain, showed positive for syphilis.  I was then lectured by them to immediately inform my wife and all sex partners of the test.  When I insisted to them that I had absolutely no symptoms of syphilis and my own research discovered that an illness I had as a child could create false positive test results, they scoffed and further lectured me on my lifestyle choices.  About three days after their call, they called me back to tell me they had mixed up my test results with someone else (claiming that had never happened there before) and that I was fine.  A subsequent visit to a REAL doctor confirmed I was fine.  What if I had falsely informed my wife and providers I had seen of the incorrect positive result, like Howard Brown was scolding me to do, when I knew something was amiss?  I would have ruined my life because of those incompetent fuckers.  Stay as far away from Howard Brown as possible!!!

I have been curious about this as well, but hadn't posted the question.  Thank you all for the suggestions.

I also would recommend tstd.org

Very quick, and professional

I have found American Health Center Arlington Heights, almost no appointment, all the panels and hiv very reasonable plus take insurance done in less than 10 min

was to remain anonymous? If we wanted to have them take my insurance, I'd just go find a 'real' doc too!

Yeah, I can see it now when the EOB message comes through the mail. "HIV testing approved!", I'm sure the SO wouldn't wonder why that was on there.

SMEGMA!!

Thanks to all that provided information!

Just go to your doctor.  The federal HIPPA laws prohibit anyone except who you allow (in writing), from looking at your person health information.  This information is restricted even from your spouse, or children, etc.  Your health insurance statement/bill will not include a diagnosis, or reason for testing, just the services provided, such as blood work, etc.

One dangerous aspect to what you posted, is that some insurance policies (like the one that my employer currently offers) requires you to release all medical records and information to them if you want to be part of the plan.  You have to sign that line AFAIK if you wanted to join the program.  No signature, no acceptance.  After you do that, they would obviously gain access to these records.  So.. if your employer were to change insurance companies, and the new company required that you release your medical records to them, that would put a lot of people who had used insurance for the testing in a tough spot.  Correct?

For me, these tests need be done outside of your insurance and as ANON as possible.

This may be true for certain insurance companies, but it is not the rule of thumb.  Besides, just because they get the release, does not give them the right to release it to ANYONE else.  Insurance companies must obey the HIPPA laws too.  So if you're worried that your employer, spouse, or any other 3rd party will get that info that's not true. In the situation you described it would be your doctor, insurance company, and you...that's all.  For those with these crappy insurance companies, just pay your own doctor in cash, instead of going to some sleazy clinic if that bothers you.
