New to the hobby, and when I contact a woman, they are asking if I'm roomservice member. Looked at the application and they are asking for a lot of info.  Not sure if I should become a member or not, thoughts/advice

Search the boards for Roomservice, plenty of info.

Whatever you decide to do about RS2K, remember that giving out your private info adds risk. The degree of risk you're willing to accept is what should drive your decision, not whom you can and cannot see. Since you're using an alias, we can't tell if your a seasoned hobbyist with solid reviews and a white list or a complete newbie. As a newbie, RS2K can help you start building a solid reputation quickly - as a seasoned hobbyist, you can choose to rely on your reputation and simply find another provider who will take your references and white list in lieu of RS2K. There are plenty of providers here who don't require RS2K if you have a solid rep. Building a good reputation takes time so if you're not in a hurry, you should think about risk vs reward before making a decision.

RoomService asks for a lot of info initially, but once they've verified you, the only information they retain is your name, city where you reside and your phone number.  That is also the only information that you give to providers for them to do their own verification.  If you get a pay-as-you-go throw away phone then the only information providers have is your legal name and the city where you reside. RoomService is mostly popular in the Chicago area, and most well reviewed providers use them for verification.  Because of that I joined when venturing into the hobby, and have never had any issues with their service or with giving providers my information.

If you want a bit more anonymity, then my suggestion would be to join Preferred411.  You still need to give them a lot of information to become a member, but once they've completely verified you, then the only information they retain is an alias that identifies you.  That alias is all you give to providers, and hence it allows you to retain anonymity in the hobby and protects you from being outed by crazy, unstable, vindictive providers.  The one downside to Preferred411 is that you have to pay membership dues every year, although its a small price to pay for the protection it provides, especially considering the amount of money that can be dropped on this hobby over a year.  For RoomService it's a one time fee for life.

Hope this helps!  Happy hunting.

I would say sign up for something if you want to see any of us ladies.  There are some other sites like preferred411 and date-check that can help some too.  Hope you get things all set up.
