I was wondering if any other providers, or even hobbyists, are ever out in public and notice a woman (either alone or in a couple) and can just tell she's a provider? I was leaving a hotel with a client ad after we embraced and parted ways I passed a couple. The woman in the couple saw the exchange. She gave me a knowing smile that I thought was weird but interpreted as her just being friendly. (I should have known better, we live in CHICAGO! lol). But anyway, today, I came across an ad on BP and there she was! And it's weird because I'd never met her before and my face is blurred. So it just made me start to wonder if there's such a thing as a provider "radar" or intuition and/or if any other providers have had a related experience?
I would venture to suggest that perhaps this lady did not have any intuition or "provider radar" about you, per se, but more the situation. Age differences, general appearances, length and specific type(s) of touch and social interaction (even the most outwardly platonic hug can give off little signals suggesting two people have been intimate), and environmental context all play into how we unconsciously assess the relationship of two people. That she is a provider herself already primes the mental pump as it were, affecting the patterns she sees and conclusions she arrives at.
The only people I'm convinced must have provider radar are hotel doormen. I swear they always give me knowing grins when I'm visiting gentlemen at their hotels. Then again, maybe I'm just paranoid.
You're paranoid, LOL You don't fit the stereotype in manner or appearance. The key to walking in to a hotel or any place relatively undetected is to act as if you belong.
THE doormen and bellhops in white gloves and dark brown suits at the soaring Mayflower Hotel have come to recognize the subtle signs: attractive women who carry no luggage, dressed tastefully but, in stilettos and lacy camisoles, seeming a touch too sensual to meet a chubby Commerce Committee lobbyist for cocktails.
Sometimes they walk straight to the elevators. If it is after 10 p.m., a security guard might stop them, leading to an awkward conversation, but a discreet call upstairs usually sets minds at ease.
More often, these women, who earn $500 to $5,000 an hour attending to guests, slip onto a stool at the wood-paneled Town & Country Lounge in the lobby and order a club soda with lime; no elaborate drinks, because the client will appear within minutes to usher them to a handsomely appointed room.
For the regular patrons and personnel here at the Mayflower, last weeks revelations of Gov. Eliot Spitzers rendezvous with a pricey prostitute within its walls fit into a decades-long story of such liaisons. Some staff members have a parlor game: Guess the Call Girl.
We are in the business of selling rooms, said a former manager of the Mayflower, speaking on the condition of anonymity as he searches for another job in the clubby world of fancy hotels. And the escort services are in the business of keeping our guests happy.
Several times I saw the infamous Sydney/Whitney....... strutting through a hotel lobbby dressed, walking, and in every way possible way screaming "look at me, I am a hooker" Does anyone know what happened to her?
I don't know if it was radar, coincidence, or the stars lined up right or what but I found one experiance to be ironic. I had seen a provider last May and on the way out, I saw a lady carrying a bag of groceries in the parking lot of the appartment complex. She seemed to flash me a knowing smile and said hi. A few months later, I saw an ad that a provider was coming to my town. This was great because I would not have to make the hour+ drive to Minneapolis. Anyway, to make a long story short, when I answered my door, who should be standing there but the lady from the parking lot!!! She recognized me first and mentioned that she saw me there. She was the neighbor of the first provider I saw there. Hmmm now that I'm thinking of it, maybe I should set an appointmet with all 3 of us.....
At one hotel in the suburbs these 2 doormen told me they were saving their tips to see me and my friend Salicia! We just laughed it off but it was kind of awkward! LOL
The only time I ever had a 'radar' moment (other than vegas...it's too easy there), was at an O'hare hotel I was staying at for a wedding. Ironicly I had visited the same hotel about 3 months before to meet a provider, so I knew the agency did make use of this hotel. I was sitting in the lobby using the Wi-Fi while waiting for the SO to get showered for the wedding and as I was sitting there a tall, sexy, blond walked in and was getting ready to check in. She did have a bag, but no 'luggage' really. She was dressed comfortably, but her hair and face looked pretty made up. I made an excuse to go up to the desk to get a better look (provider or not...she was nice looking). I overheard the desk clerk say her room number (let's say it was 415) and I gave her a friendly head nod when we made eye contact and she walked to the elevators. I proceeded to check the agency's website and they did have a new blond roughly matching the girl I saw. I was ready to just chalk it up to coincidence, but as I was getting ready to go back to the room about 30 minutes later, I found myself getting on to the elevator with a shlubby 40 something guy who pressed floor 4. I now played PI and got off at the same floor, turning to the right for rooms 420-up, while he turned left for 401-419. As I walked down the hall way, I did the 'aw shucks I forgot something' stutter step and turn to go back to the elevator and saw him gingerly knock and go in about 4 doors down the hall. I didn't verify it but I'd say it was 415.
Anyway, it was kind of like being on the inside of a secret society or club where you have a secret handshake, only the handshake in this instance is the way the people act and appear. When we got back from the wedding that night I felt like seeing if I could schedule an appointment with her, but I felt that would be pushing things into stalker town. Not to mention the SO wasn't that drunk not to notice I went missing for an hour or so.
As I recall, Sydney/Whitney used 3 or 4 persona names and those that have been around can likely attest to her shenanigans. I think she only posted on EROS, but I could be wrong. I am sure countless guys were snafued by her over the years.
When I was a teenager (not that long ago but way before I was thinking about being a provider), my sister, friend and I would roam the halls of really nice hotels downtown (kinda just because we could) and we used to play "spot the prostitute"! LOL Knowing what I know now, I'm almost willing to bet we were dead wrong and the real providers probably walked right past us unnoticed lol.
