There was a thread a couple of weeks ago and another moderater chimed in with this post. http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=99293&boardID=10&page=

I understand that he isn't the moderator of this forum and his views and style may be different than yours.  For all I know his views may not be the same as the TER company line, and within whatever guidelines TER gives you as a mod you may feel a lot differently and govern as such.   As a long time poster on this board I have seen many changes over the years, but I no longer feel that this board is being governed with the philosophy as outlined by that post.

As a hobbiest I don't check this board every 15 minutes, nor would I have any interest in doing so.  It seems to me like those influencing and controlling the conversation and tone of the board are anxious, willing and able to post every 5 minutes if that is what it takes to control the threads they participate in.  They are not hobbiests.

Im not sure if this is the way ter wants things, and/or if it is the way you as the mod wants things.    I just want to understand the philosophy of those running the show.

If you are talking about some of the agency owners, they are members too. While not hobbyists, there is nothing that I know of in the TER rules that prevent (or any of us) from posting as many times as they want, with the exception of pure ads. Of course, some might give you a hard time, but so what. Do they control the conversation, I think that is far from true. Sure, they yell louder than many, but the way you deal with them is not use their services. Some of the people you speak of have known each other for a long time. Some might even call themselves friends. My unsolicited advice is to deal with them and their posts as you wish, but unless there is a clear violation of TER rules, you are going to get nowhere. Don't be considered an outsider or your complaints will fall on deaf ears (with respect to deaf people). Unless you become part of the core group or in the case of some long time hobbyists who they never go against, don't expect much sympathy. The problem with the Chicago board in my opinion is,  it's all about commerce, and the obligatory weekly flame war. It's pretty boring stuff when you consider some of the other regions. It's also very clannish. If you don't go to the M&Gs, you are probably considered an unknown to most of the regular posters here. There are many that lurk to avoid the drama and others that are bandwagon types with no thoughts or opinions other than people they follow or providers they want to win favor with. In short, this is a long hill you want to climb.

What's your point, asshole? I thought so. You don't have one. Why mimic others? Cause OZ, didn't give you a brain, Tin man?

Axxel, you remind me of the guy who starts a fight with someone and then when the guy pops him in the nose and breaks it, he is calling for the police to press charges!

Since you write this crap after getting your teeth kicked in verbally by yours truly after trying to antagonze me in the thread that Apropo started,  it is easy to figure out what you might be referring to.

What I like about this forum is that all the posts are time stamped.  All support or the moderater has to do is look and see that you started the crap and now because your nose got broke you want to wine about it!  LOL!

I have an idea for you though.  Call me with your references and I will schedule Geanna, Cameron, Kaylynn, Angel or one of the other quality ladies that MTA has to offer and we'll see if they can work that knot out of your panties for you!

that might be accused of possibly "yelling louder than many" when posting

I hardly think that deciding not to respond to your  name calling in another thread constitutes being bloodied and having ones teeth kicked in.  If you feel some sort of triumph over the fact that I didn't respond that you need to post in this thread to further stroke your misguided ego than good for you.    As I already stated I have other things to do than hover over this board waiting for someone to slight me or disagree with something I said so I can flame them.

it wasnt name calling....that is your specialty.  I was just stating facts.  You made a moronic statement regarding the ability of agencies to delete reviews and I said you were a "moron" for saying that!

If anyone reads that thread, they can clearly see that you hijacked it to pull a drive-by on me and I set you right in your place!

There have been numerous posts on this forum of providers expressing frustration with reviews they deemed unfair or inaccurate.   Providers have also expressed frustration at the effort it takes to go through the chain of command to get those reviews removed.  If providers can get reviews they feel are false, unfair, or misleading removed it would seem that agencies would be capable of doing the same.    That thread was about reviews and though you may not have liked my post it was germaine to the subject of agencies seeking more reviews for their girls.
I made my points in that thread and left, the fact that I didn't stick around to keep fighting with you must be really grating on you.  By saying that you "set me in my place" are you inplying that you shouting at me and calling me names was letting me know who is dominating, and running the show here?

Since you brought up hijacking a thread I don't see what your problems with my posts in that thread have anything to do with this thread about moderation and styles of moderators. This thread had nothing to do with reviews, but you seem to want to make it about you "putting me in my place", "getting my nose broke", and "kicking my teeth in".  What does any of that have to do with a question about moderators and their guidelines and styles?

It seems by some recent changes made that we didn't have an active moderator as I suspected.  Now that we have one I hope the board moves forward towards being less about agencies shouting at people, bragging about physical violence towards hobbiests, calling names, berating us for not posting reviews, and lecturing us on how we should score and word them.

you have more time than you claim to post on here.  I know you did not specifically say that you were complaining about what I said it "sounded"like you were complaining about.  But, apparently others in this thread thought the same thing.

Regardless, you did hijack that other thread for a little "drive-by" against "agencies" and MTA in particular and when I shoved it back in your face, you came out looking for a moderater to help you.  Just coincidence I know...... "I'm just saying".

Your continual badgering me off topic in this thread further illustrates the points I wanted to make by starting it, thanks for the support.  You must be very insecure.

Axxel-

The whole point of my posting was to address the fact that these boards are designed for the hobbyist. Yes, providors participate and quite often ad a different dimension to the perspectives that we men can become focused on. With respect to some of the agencies and handlers, yes, they too are paying memebers of TER. As such, they have the right to participate in board postings and for that matter, all of the other benefits of a TER membership.

When I started hobbying in Chicago, the agencies and handlers were a pretty quiet group of people. We had our regulars who carried the conversations and some providors who kept things interesting. Of course we had Sinful who always provided a timely poem or some other entertaining contribution that got the temperature of the board in the triple digits. My point was, the board was fun, it was truely entertainment at it's best but always useful. Did we have a war every once in awhile, sure, but it wouldn't be Chicago if we didn't. Just let some south sider make a comment about the Cubs blowing a game and there we go, a war breaks out. At the end of the day we all rallied around each other just like true Chicagoans do.

Axxel, if you want to change the tone of the board you have to decide if and when to participate in the threads. You can start threads, offer your opinions, or completely ignore a thread and not participate in it at all. I have no ax to grind with the agencies, in fact you can check old postings where I have stuck up for MTA, when the tone of the board was going against him. At the end of the day, it is you guys that run the board, the Moderators have precious little to do with content. We are Moderators, the enforcers of the established rules. We make sure that everyone follows them and we are impartial. Yes, some Mods are very different then others. My style is much different than Docs and Dancingbears, but none of us are THAT different.

Go out and have fun, post if you want, lurk if you want or participate if you want. It YOUR board, not the moderators. And why are you wasting time posting? You have some of the hottest ladies I know right there in the Chicagoland area. Certainly one of the things I miss most about Chicago.

I am certainly trying to get back on the board more often.  I miss it and the fun we had.  I also miss some of the many gentlemen who used to post on the board.  Don't get me wrong, there is always room for "new blood," but the gents who used to post on this board now post infrequently.

To be honest, to some extent, I have stayed away from the board as I feel it had deteriorated to some degree.  The good spirited, fun and helpful atmosphere of the board had become "Jerry Springer-ish" with personal attacks and disagreements.  Something that is generally better handled directly, by PM or other means, rather than in a public forum.  Andy Warhol once said "In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes."  Lets hope that 15 minutes is a positive one!

Sinthia

I'm staying away for the same reason. This board has deteriorated into little more than weekly ads and a few people attacking anyone who has an opinion. I'm not sure what we're supposed to talk about and the posting rules have become too rigid to waste time writing something only to have it removed. And with it taking up to a day to get a post approved, by the time it goes up it's not even relevant any more. Why bother...
