New to this.. Saw a provider over the weekend, I have a longtime partner (NOT SINGLE) and am now terrified of an STD given the unprotected interaction

It was dry humping scenario, where she was grinding up and down my leg from on top of me, then it became genital on genital contact -- NOT PENETRATION -- then after not long she grabbed my dong and put it between as she was full cowgirl, eventually I came and it was largely on my abdomen.

Is this pretty high risk? How soon after can I get tested? Will it become apparent I've caught something?

Testing

First off, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on television.

There is always risk with bare anything. From the recent discussions happening in the General Board, there have been plenty of guys who say they go bare regularly and have never had an issue in years. It's a gamble, so you never know.

Google - STI Incubation Periods for common incubation times before an infection will show up on a test. You can also look into DOxyPrep. Not sure if it works after the fact or is only PreExposure. You can also see your doctor and let him know what's up honestly, or go to an urgent care for some advice. Doctor-Client Privilege and all that.

In general, if you are going to be in the hobby, with a significant other or not, I would recommend regular testing to be on the safe side and be a decent human being. You can always go through your doctor or test through a more discreet online company (STDCheck, Talent Testing, etc.)

Chlamydia

The most likely risk would be chlamydia. That takes about one to two weeks to show up on an STI test.

Gonorrhea can be transmitted this way also but it is less common. Herpes is a possibility, although relatively unlikely in the context of no lesions.

I would get a gonorrhea/chlamydia test done in a week or two.

I assume you got carried away in a horny haze, but if there’s any possibility of a repeat, I would suggest being intentional about it andseeing reputable providers who engage in protected services. Aside from not doing it at all, of course, that’s the best way to safeguard both your and your partner’s health.

Not sure what you mean. Did she just stripper slide you, or did she actually stick it in?

Regardless, I agree that testing is something you should do. It's just a generally good idea to get yourself tested on a regular basis if you're sexually active. If you need to keep it discreet, use an urgent care clinic (though if you get a positive from there, DO A SECOND TEST ELSEWHERE before you confirm. I had a false posi on chlamydia from one a few years back).

Men can have boundaries too

Hi hxj2, That sounds scary and sorry to hear about that. I see you already got lots of solid advice to keep yourself safe going forward. From a provider perspective, this is why I don't offer uncovered (definitely not genital) situations. (Things like kissing etc may sometimes be possible at the discretion of both myself and client and with due caution). This is one of the reasons why I have very definite safety procedures myself, as well I sit with first time clients at beginning of our encounter, and among other things, make sure he knows my boundaries, and I make a point of asking for his as well. I believe men don't get asked often, and they should be asked and respected.

While many men (wrong or right - not judging here, though I have my own definite opinions) would consider what you experienced to be a premium service. In this case the lady assumed, and I'm hoping maybe (?) if you feel comfortable, you could gently give her some feedback on the matter, so that she can be more delicate with a man's preferences and boundaries.

HPV, HSV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia

These are the ones you are most at risk for when allowing non-penetrative skin contact. Which, by the way, you can get several of these just by being in the vicinity, so seriously dude, stop the near miss grinding as well. Unfortunately, there is no test for HPV for men. You're just going to have to wait that one out and see if you get warts, or you give your wife cervical cancer.

Why am I being hard on you? Because you were playing with fire instead of using your big head. If a provider is engaging in risky behavior, leave. Do not fight over the money, just go. If she's done it with you, she's done it with countless others.

Here's how else you can protect yourself: if you're under 45 years old, you can walk into your local pharmacy and ask for the HPV vaccine-it's available to men too! This will minimize your risks for HPV, which can still be caught with condom use since the wart versions live on the skin (genitals, thighs, buttocks, ass, etc.)

Also in the future, you may want to look for providers that offer FC2 condoms. There's not many of us, but I very much believe the extra coverage around the outside helps minimize skin contact. (Plus they feel better for most men!)
