Recently there appear to be some new posters on this board who have no clue as to what this board is about.  I'm not saying that this applies to everyone, but I am sure you will agree that it applies to some.

Gents who complain that they do not want to join a prescreening service, nor do they want to provide prescreening.  We should all take their word that they are nice guys????  Lets get real here.  Our safety comes first.  Gents who refuse to comply with a lady's prescreening requirements should simply move on.  Find a provider whose prescreening requirements are more in line with the information you are willing to provide.  Or, I hear there are certain corners in Chicago, where you can pick up a quick date who will not ask any questions.

Gents who believe that the many lovely ladies in Chicago are tour guides.  That they have nothing better to do than spend an evening in the company of someone who is willing to pay for their drinks.  Think again.  Any of the ladies on this board are perfectly capable of getting their drinks paid for, if that is their desire, when they go out.  This is not a division of the Chicago Board of Tourism.

Its amazing that there seems to be so much confusion about the most basic concepts.  

I would recommend that you visit the FAQ for Newbies board if you have any questions about how things work.  The moderator of that board also posted a "Newbie Guide" which is found in the header section of each page.  This is a great place to start.

I absolutely second that.  To the gentlemen who know they are great guys, give us something to make us feel comfortable.  Ladies who are highly regarded will not cause you any grief, and are very private.  A little give and take will set you up for a wonderful adventure.

What some guys fail to understand, is that LE really doesn't care who you are. They have guns. They are going to arrest you.

Highly regarded ladies do care who you are.

Seriously, Room Service 2000 in Chicagoland and Preferred 411 are wonderful screening services. To my knowledge, they have never violated a trust. If they had, it would have been all over TER in an instant, and their operations (and incomes) would be gone forever.

Most reputable Chicagoland ladies insist on RS2K - no ifs, ands or buts!

Unless you are the next Tiger Woods and your story is wortn $500,000 to the tabloids, you have nothing to worry about from a lady who does careful screening. And if you are. you should go see Elliott Spitzer's agency and not bother our TER community. LOL

In fact, you need to be wary of anyone who does not screen carefully. Think about it.

thank you CTP and Sinful for starting this thread.  Please stop trying to get services that are not going to be offered like uncovered f/s.  NO means NO!

First of all, there is nothing that I can think of that will ruin the "mood" more than a guy who consistantly tries to get this for an entire session after beinmg told not once, not twice but upteen times... NO!

Secondly, if for some reason you find a lady who does allow this.... do you really want to stick it in there?  I mean, if she says yes to you, do you think you are the only one that got the green light?  C'mon now..... I'm just sayin.....

This is especially evident in the male of the species, and keep in mind that not many have ever accused us of being overly bright, when it comes to anything related to sex. If we were as smart as some of us seem to think we are, we would have figured out a way to sell cock, instead of paying for pussy.

Newbies have to start somewhere - we've all been there (hobbyists and providers). Hobbyists have their own unique set of challenges when they first get into hobbying - especially if you haven't discovered places like this board.  By they time a guy finds TER - he's been upsold a dozen times, probably ripped off a few - and is generally paranoid that everyone is out to get him.          
  I'm often amazed at the lack of tolerance for newbies on this board - todays newbie could be one of tomorrows best clients.  Once they've spent some time on the boards at TER - many of them will realize that a screening service like RS2K is the only way to go.

Believe it or not, I doubt most newbies who won't give their info our aren't worried about LE doing the verification.  After all, if you get in a situation with LE and don't find out until the appointment, it's too late...they will know who you are when you are booked.  I think most are worried about giving their info out in case it comes back to them via a flakey provider (and there are plenty of those) or as colatteral damage in a bust of a reputable provider/agency.  Even if we do our homework and get screened by a great provider...there's no guarantee that she won't be busted and her 'little black book' will get pinched in the process.  I know most providers will say they delete the verification info once used, but I also know that some don't.  If my name shows up in a newspaper or website as being found in a list somewhere...even if LE doesn't do anything about it, I'm sunk as it will get to the SO eventually.

Not about petty grievances with other established hobbyists. I am calling attention to that now, in a nice way, out of respect to Sin and her thread. If things degrade to name-calling or other unethical things as they did once before, things will get VERY ugly.

Everyone should show the same respect toward others that they themselves crave.

I've had newbies call who have never heard of ter.  Tell me what they look like as though it would make a difference.  I'm 6'2, well-built, handsome. etc  Hey, I want references not your physical description.

I can thank Kelly Shannon for insisting that I register with RS2K before she would even see me.  She explained the way it is to me when I was a newbie at the time.  Kelly gave me the best piece of advise as it opened many a doors for me with providers.  Also, Even though a newbie "scores" with a lady on his first date, it doesn't mean she's in love with him.  The must realize that this is a job for her.  She has a bad day at the office like everyone else.  Many come home to a family that she loves and cares for.

I won't join a pre-screening service. I have plenty of provider references and a white list so there are many ways to verify me simply by making a few phone calls. This has worked well for me and I don't feel the need to give out my personal information to be stored on some agency's computer. When I see an ad posted for RS2K members only, I don't bother with that provider. It's not a big deal to me. A big deal would be having my personal information compromised by accident or otherwise. My reviews reflect a fraction of the ladies I've actually seen and I've never needed RS2K for any of them. So yes, you can see very reputable, high-quality providers without being a member of a screening service. You can build a good reputation without giving away your personal infomration.

However, you won't see a quality provider if you don't provide the screening information she requires. I have no problem with giving proper screening information to a well-reviewed and highly respected provider as long as it doesn't require a screening agency membership. This method works for me and I'm happy with it.

how and where all started. Like you said, it has to start form somewhere and some people tend to forget this once they get down the road.
