Chicago

Oh I know...

I've driven up 65 many times in snow storms, it sucks the big one. Taking the skyway was a smart move for going downtown. There are other ways to bypass into IL further south but it probably wouldn't have made much difference.

Don't go outside, it's fucking colder than shit out there!

I left Cincinnati at 10:30am EST and I just got in to Chicago roughly 45 minutes ago. I am truly surprised that I made it considering the weather, batshit semi truck drivers, and my sub-par skills at operating a motor vehicle.

If any of y'all are going to be on the roads at some point in the near future, PLEASE be careful. And go slow!

You took 80/94 didn't you? Bad College Girl, you should know better than driving through NW Indiana in a snowstorm not to mention getting anywhere near the Borman except between the hours of 1AM and 3AM. Sub-par driving skills not withstanding, you made it here in one piece and your car is still intact so congratulations are in order, you're a better driver than you thought, lol.

Now if you can survive the next two days without getting frostbite, an award for outstanding survival skills is in order

I took 74 to 65 to 90. 65 was the absolute worst, speeds never topped 20. There wasn't even snow until I got to Indianapolis, then all of a sudden it was just a massive shitshow. No me gusta.

Indiana declared a state of emergency hours ago. You would be in jail if they had caught you on the road.

Well they would have had to throw hundreds of other people in there with me, because there was actually tons of traffic. I don't think Indiana has that much room in their jails. :D

I am stuck in Indy.  They closed 65!

You must have left later than I did. Well, that, or you did the smart thing and just stopped driving.

I had flown out & flew right back less, than 24hrs because it was snowing & sucked big time.  My hat goes off to all the working women who do commute out in Chitown during the cold conditions.  Outcalls are horrible & the toll roads omg not fun at all.

And I'm coming into your frigid world on Saturday!??
Now I know I am nuts.

We won't be the North Pole after Tuesday, you'll be fine on Saturday :-)

I've been out there all day in 10-minute intervals. OMFG, my finger tips froze in insulated gloves, my face was burning. It took 4 trips to clean off the car, lol.

And I thought I had it bad when I flew in today. The airports were kind of post apocalyptic in nature, but your road trip just sounds unsafe. Glad you're here! xoxo

We would have melted the roads together! ;)

It looked the same driving yesterday... you're lucky your flight wasn't cancelled but driving wasn't fun. Today will be better and by the end of the week, it'll feel so warm you'll break out the bikini and head to North Ave beach (38 on Saturday - spring is in the air, lol)
