Yes it's true, too much hassle at Sybaris. See if Ambiance Suites or Champagne Lodge fits the bill, much easier to work with.

I have been thinking of trying the Sybaris, but I have heard that its not good for hobbying because both  people have to check in together.   Anyone know if this true?

Any other sugestions for a place that has fantasy suites?

You don't have to check in together, but they do not allow more then 2 people per room and the landscaper/maids watch

But Sage is correct.  Ambiance on Mannheim is pretty cool and easy;)

I have used Ambiance several times and it is easy, the rooms are clean and best of all, they have one for every price range.

that this place is very watchful as well, specially since it is set up like a regular hotel.  Even harder if you would try to sneak a 3rd person in.

So, which is the best bang for the buck, in terms of:

* Privacy
* Ease of Use (getting the reservation, getting checked in, getting checked out, etc)
* Rate ($$$ per hour to the rental company, services provided)

Yes, I could do a "search" or "google" it, but honestly, I don't trust hotels!  If they are not the Drury Inn and Suites, they are probably lying to you. (Yes, I plugged them, no, I don't know if they are in business anymore, I moved to Chicagoland so I don't have to use hotels out here anymore...but they ROCKED 10 years ago.  They put the Drake to shame, to utter and complete SHAME!  They were a bit more expensive, similar to the difference between Motel 8 and Day's Inn, this is Day's Inn compared to Drury. )

For the record, no, price is not an option, but why waste good $$$ on crap rooms?  After all, I'm already reimbursing a companion for her time, giving up earning potential for entertaining myself instead of cultivating new clients, getting the props of a good stage (sure, PM me if you want to know what I think those are) and making sure every detail I can possible ensure is set to be the most conducive to my needs and desires...the last thing I need is a room that was cleaned by a chimpanzee, decorated by a homeless man and smells of stale beer, not to mention, they establishment wanting $130/night....

I have used Ambiance Suites in the past.  The rooms are not as elegant as Sybaris;but, they're not bad. Had to request a room change once because the smell of smoke permeated the air.  You can book a room for 4 hours and Ambiance allows you to pick the 4 hour block of time.  They are opening their 2nd location in Midlothian in May.

Might have an issue at different locations?

I prefer the Sybaris, but I have never been to the Ambiance Suites, but have had friends who have stayed there.

I like privacy, extreme privacy if I am going to a hotel to play.  Not big on the type that are hotels, where you have neighbors on all sides because I tend to be loud.

I adore the Sybaris in Northbrook, all of the rooms are cottages and some are duplexes but you will not have anyone who can here you.  Besides they do have pools in the pools and that is ultra cool.

Privacy-- Sybaris Northbrook has it hands down
Ease of use-- Again my vote goes to Sybaris Northbrook because the little cottages make it easier to do whatever you want including parking 2 cars outside your room in case that is needed.  They also have a suite with a garage if you want to be ultra descrete and NO she does not need to come in to check in with you!!
Rate-- Ambiance Suites has that, the most a room will run you will be 200$nt, however the Sybaris depending on the night of the week and how extravagant you want the room can run you up to about 500$nt.  As well, the Sybaris you have to have a yearly membership that runs 35$.

The upside on either is they do have 4hr blocks in the middle of the afternoon you can rent the room for a fraction of the cost, usually right around 100$ for either establishment.

Did I mention the Sybaris has a Ti-hanging basket in the closet that can be hung from the hook in the middle of the mirror over the bed?  No, well they do.

So my advise, do the 4hr afternoon at the Sybaris, contact me if you need a discount code.   I even have some codes that will get you an overnight in a Signature Pool suite Mon-Wens for only 180$, as well as discounts all nights of the week and on the afternoon packages.  Let me know what you want and I will hook you up.

No Idea about cleanliness at the Ambiance Suites, my friends didn't say it was dirty.  The Sybaris is usually really good about cleanliness, and I only had an issue once with the pool(there were some dead bugs in the bottom) and they gave me a package for a free stay and a bunch of extras like a robe, rose, and something else I think.

I have been to the Sybaris many times, was invited by a couple(they gave me the gate code and cottage number) once, and my own private affairs. For cleaniness it cant be beat , these places are spotless. As far as checking in, I believe money is the main ingredient in this puzzle. I have many times met my dates there with me checking in first. They all have gate codes to get onto the property , as long as you have the gate code just give it to your partner or date, and they can enter without you. The Sybaris says for married couples only but that is for marketing purposes and as long as you are discreet and dont have any wild parties, u should be fine. I dont believe this is the place to have high traffic because of the cameras and the gate code, but 2 visitors max is all I have the nerve for. I find the Northbrook and Frankfort locations less intrusive to your privacy, Downers Grove is much smaller and easier to see what you're doing . But no I have checked in only once with my other party in about 10 visits. They also ask for the license plate of the other car , I have never given it(i'll give it to u later) and have never had a problem. As long as the credit card is approved you are good to go!  I also have codes for discounts and last minute specials and Tuesday's and Wednesday's are usually the cheapest. If you can avoid  Friday and Saturday do so, that is when the prices go sky high.

Highly recommend this place... they also have the hanging basket on back of bathroom door.

It is very private and much more affordable than sybaris.

Get the suite with the steam room/ rain shower...
