Is it me or is it really taking a ridiculous amount of time for our messages and replies to get posted???
Yesterday I waited for 2 hours for my message (Farve!!!!)to get posted, I had to turn off my computer before it came up. I have no idea what time it was posted, but 2 hours and waiting isn't right....
Today I've been waiting for over an hour, whats up????

But the moderator does not check the board 24/7.  They do have their own lives to live.  Plus, a two hour delay is not the end of the world.

You may want to ask the mod to be unmoderated.  But, your post may not help you in that regard.

There are unmoderated users, and moderated users.
Unmoderated users have the priviledge of their posts going up immediately.

Moderated users must wait for their comments to be screened for propriety and staying within the generous boundaries and guidelines set forth by TER. After a time, these moderated users can request to be unmoderated, or sometimes, if they are solid contributors, the moderator takes notice, and will unmoderate them on his/her own.

With the large number of contributors to Chicago and Los Angele (I handle both at this time), it is simply easier for the Moderator to focus on the people who request to be unmoderated. They are scrutinized for a period of time, their prior activity and contribution browsed, and the decision is made to unmoderate them, or not.

Now to address your issue with the time it takes for your post to be approved and published.
It has been made very clear numerous times over the past year that moderated posts can take up to 12 hours to be cleared for publication.
The moderators do the best they can to insure timely reviews of the comments posted. But this is a volunteer position. There is no compensation, little thanks, and a great deal of headache both public and especially in the back rooms. It so happens than at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon in Southern California, I'm not likely to be in front of my computer screening for "Yeah Me Too! eom" comments.

Now let's address you, thick. You're an impatient person, you know that? In the time it has taken me to compose this response to you, you've added not one, but THREE identical complaints about THIS post of yours taking so long to be published. Those will not see the light of day, in that they address an issue that is a current topic on the boards.

You can always ask to be unmoderated. At that time, I will ask you if you are a VIP member either by writing reviews, (which apparently, you have none) or as a paid member (which apparently, you are not). So since you seem to be interested only in the free services provided by TER, and as you are not a provider in good standing, I would, at this time, be disinclined to unmoderate you. Unless you give me good reason to do so. Posting about Sports (Farve!!!) in the Chicago discussion group is not my idea of solid contributions to the community. Next time, I'll just move the post to the Sportstalk group.

In the meantime, I encourage you to review the TER posting guidelines. We'd like for you to be a good solid contributor.

Check your records, I've been a VIP member on and off (mostly on when I'm in country)since 2001, and I am a Vip member at this time. I choose to pay because I believe what goes on between a  provider and myself is personal to us, and I'm willing to pay, and not get something for free...
As for sports, I've seen many posts about sports teams and it generates some light conversation along with some of the jokes I've seen, and thats a good thing...

In times past I've never seen my posts take this long.

Mabye the system needs to be looked at.

Fair statement. It has been. There are flaws. We do the best we can with what we have to work with at the time.

I do check my records... but Moderators have no access whatsoever to either profiles, or reviews.

All I can do is check your posting history the same as everyone else. No different than you.

For every occasional contributor who complains their posts take too long, there are hundreds who post, respond, and interact with no problems, be they VIP or not. I have no way to tell if you are VIP or not. I do not see reviews connected to your name. No problem. Lots of people don't contribute reviews. It's not obligated. But if you're a VIP member, then the solution is simple. Ask to be unmoderated. All I need to do is confirm with Admin your VIP status.

Then I'll start paying more attention to your contributions for both caliber and content. And we'll see.

But one small bit of advice... it doesn't help your cause to take an adversarial position.

No worries. Chances are, thick is a Cubs fan. Which means he's used to being treated as a second class citizen.

but in my opinion, you should look at the relevance of your posts. Doc Gonzo in my opinion was very kind in his response to you.

Perhaps if you were actually contributing something to the board your posts might be put up quicker. For that matter, maybe you should only post when the topic has something to do with the purpose of this site. That would be a change for you.

Comments such as you have recently made bring nothing to the board and generally are a waste of time.

Any other complaints that you would like to discuss?
