The proposal is only binding within LA proper so production companies could film outside the city boundaries to skirt such a law. But considering most of them are in the SF valley, it would be inconvenient.

Also interesting is that if this does come up for a vote, it's sure to pass. People outside the porn industry would overwhelmingly approve such a measure and they far outnumber those in the industry.

Then there are the legal challenges which are sure to come. Everything considered, it's hard to believe that such a law would hold for the long term. OTOH, it's California so who knows.
