Lately I have been seeing an influx of interest due to aggressive advertising on main sites. The Erotic Review has made a noticeable difference in a potential client making the final decision based on discussion board conversations, (some are looking for a specific personality type,) website content, obviously rates, and looks. (Usually in the order of 1. Pictures 2. Rates. 3. Website content and 4. some go to the lengths of googling a name or searching TER boards for entertaining personality in discussion.)  

Of course, ,the original place they originally found the ho is a huge factor.

For a time, I have found TER to be a great place just to shoot the shit while on tour or in lonely places. I's been a blast meeting a lot of the personalities here - surprisingly these personalities are actually extremely hilarious.

Where any emotions are involved, consumers rarely know their actual motivations.

The common example of this is toothpaste.  When asked "Which do you prefer and why?" of Colgate or Crest, the interviewees gave lots of explanations as to why, in spite of the fact that toothpaste choice is over 90% correlated to the toothpaste you grew up using.

I'd say for this particular "product," you can tell more about the market by looking at who is most successful.

Good point Marie, but how do you define success?  What is success for one lady may not be for another - and how do you tell that one is successful?  Wait, this sounds familiar...

           I was with Independent first.  I was scared to use an agency.   Still that way....
Part III Actually, I started out just about right in terms of price range.
Part IV  I prefer dates of about an hour or 90 min.
             I like to see a lady once a month or so.
             I like to book in advance when possible.
             I prefer incall at a private location.
             I do like if she gives general location of her incall (ie NW Burbs).  Then I dont waste her time by                           finding out later her incall is an hour away from me....
Part V  I start with TER and link to ads from the reviews.

If they pour lots of money into advertising month after month after month (6+), I'd expect it's working.

Also I'd check the new reviews for girls who don't advertise.  If they have a consistent stream of reviews, I'd check what advertising they ever did do.  Obviously it worked.

This is my advice for general consumption.  There may be additional niche related trade secrets, but those are not for sharing, so hush. :P

Part V: I prefer searching TER ratings first and then looking at ads.  The best advertisement is a TER rating greater than 7/7.  I exclude providers that post hateful, arrogant, or bitchy stuff on the Chicago board.  Love the providers that post insightful or funny stuff.

Footnote: I fantasized about an out-of-town provider for months and as it turned out it was my worst experience by far.  Then, in a moment of confusion I met Jamie Love who I was not interested in and found her to be a delightful woman who provided a wonderful experience.  So, I am not as smart as I think I am!

OK, I'll play.  

Part I:  I live 2 blocks north of the Chicago City limits and take LSD everyday (to get to work).

Part II:  I started in college and frequented the massage parlors near campus.  Upon moving to Chicago more than 15 years ago, I answered an ad in the Chicago Reader and hooked up with an agency that I still use.

Part III:  I am sensitive to price point, always have been, always will be.  

Part IV:  I prefer 60 minute dates initially.  If I repeat and we get along, it can extend to 90 minutes.  I'll do 2 hour dates occasionally if I really like the girl and I haven't seen her for a while.  I find I'm going about once a week on average.  I prefer to schedule in advance so I can block off my schedule.  And, I prefer incall -- either private or hotel - in the City.  I prefer not to go to O'Hare because traffic sucks, but I will for the right girl.  If location is not stated in her ad, I'll bring it up on the initial contact.

Part V:  Regardless of the length of the date, I start, and usually end, with TER, its ads and reviews.  I'll also go to P411, EROS and RS2K.  But usually TER is sufficient
