I have created a web site for a provider that nine pages at launch. All pages has one or more pictures on them.
The pages are as follows:
Age Check: This has the "if you're not 18 years" old blah, blah hit the exit button and leave otherwise hit the enter button and come into my site.
About Me: Here the provider talks about what you might expect and gives the GFE donation cost.
Speciality pages: There are three different types of specialties she provides. These page have pictures and what the donations are. Some have multiple pictures that cycle through automatically or the user may go through them manually.
Gallery: Many, many hot pictures of the provider in a light box type of presentation
Two more pages showing different sides of her personality. These are very hot pages with many pictures
And the last page has the appointment request form that will need to be filled out to apply for a date
I'm doing this as a barter but I need to know what I should tell her it would cost if it she had to pay someone else. We'll then divide that sum by her hourly rate and that's how many sessions I'll get.
The site is very professional and she is getting many compliments.
My question to all of you is what do you think is a fair price for building such a site? I have spent many hours making the site look professional and she is happy with it.
This is the hardest part of freelancing but here goes...
Since it is already created, you should have some rough idea of how many hours it took to create. Using your usual hourly rate as a developer/employee as a base, increase that by atleast 30% (for taxes etc, although I would go more, probably double) and see how that number looks. It might seem too big but it is probably right. If it seems about right or too small then it is definitely too small. Also factor in any future support that might be required, and either get an agreement that this is included in the price or that you will charge per hour for fixes, small adjustments.
The reception will probably be that it is too high, but everyone seems to think 'its just a simple website how long could it take.' By basing your number off what you normally make per hour (albeit doubled or whatever) then you have an easy counterpoint to fall back on in your first freelance negotiation.
A quick google of an average web development freelancer's salary gives me $56,664, so you could also work that to get an hourly fee then adjust based on your location and higher or lower living expenses.
Good luck!
You then should price 5 hour increments, whatever your hourly rate would be. That can be for enhancements, updates, maintenance, etc. I would say if you are using all the bells and whistles in web development and you optimize the site for tablets or smartphones, take the average hourly rate in this area. Check something like salary.com for a ballpark.
thinking in dollar amounts and anyone here who tells you otherwise is wrong.
Having been around the corner with the freaks of web world no one and I mean no one
will ever get my money unless I see the work done on a public board where it can be
examined . Trust me on this one anymore many of us are learning ourselves. It might
take some of us longer but look at the headaches it will save. I have seen websites
that other providers have paid $2500 for and others that cost $300 which compared to
a $120 dollar site that moved next door to it with the same style . Cost depends on
style and what you offer up . If you use a web builder and you can show some of your work
you may have a fair chance to get your work noticed. But I will be honest with you web
designers have made a very bad reputation for themselves on here.

There are some lovely women to cam build a nice, simple website for 300.00 You can get a free one or pay 50-100. There are established companies that really do awesome work and they are higher priced. For someone just starting out, I wouldn't think you would charge much. I definitely wouldn't pay much from someone that is new to it. Also if I am paying a good fee I better have co plate control over the website. Me and me only.
So honestly, one multi hour appointment should cover it.
I want thank everyone for the comments. I forgot to think about maintenance so I will set up and hourly rate that I can bank for future visits. I am not new to designing web sites I have a masters degree for IIT in Chicago in Computer Science but my work life was in telecommunications. I'm retired now and enjoy doing web sites for clubs and now found a good person to barter with.
I have used responsive design in the web site so you can view it on a computer, tablet or smart phone.
I think $100 is way to low for the work I did and I understand the Escort site that allows one for that cost might be a good way to go but this girl wanted a site that didn't look like a cookie cutter site any other girl has.
Again, I'd like to thank all of you for you time and comments.

When you offer your services, you should agree on the price upfront, not after completion of a project.
You, the service provider in this case, state your price. She, the consumer, either agrees or disagrees to pay the stated price.
Just imagine that you are hiring a contractor to build your house and he decides to price his project after completion of the house.

This guy sounds like the same guy who threatened to protest at my door( not knowing
where my door is ) and wanted to go to the Mayor and out me when I bitched about
being ripped off. It was all about the money and as you can see I have no website.
Hmm... I smell something rotting around here.
Angela,
You have sent an arrow in my heart.
The owner of the website I created and I have agreed on three dates which adds up to 600 apples I would have bought for the barter.
I also agree to maintain it for the first three months free (my idea because I she's a working mom and I like her) then for 50 apples for a whole month when she wants to update it. For example if she doesn't do anything for 3 or 4 months there is no cost then all of sudden she wants to add/delete pictures maintenance stuff it will be 50 apples to be applied to a future appointment and we can go back and forth that month until the site is how she likes it. Remember I'm also the guy who has been taking her pictures and editing them for the site. If she wants some new pages I will then charge 30 apples/hour to do new work.
I think all of this is fair. And Angela we have never met and I distrust the major you guys have voted in Chicago so I would never go to him for anything. I am not a bad guy and am on the whitelist on TER. I may have to schedule an appointment with you just to prove I'm a good guy.

If you ever do this again you might want to agree to terms in advance just so there is no miscommunication or misunderstandings that could lead to hard feelings in the future.
BTW you are making me want to eat apples now, LOL
If I decide on someone to create my site I would not want to keep them for maintenance photo uploads edits I would want full control and my own admin side and send the code to my own adult server for 100 a yr. Right now I can pay rare escorts $7.00 and have my site back up for 2 yrs I am my own maintenance on it.
When I see all these numbers tossed around yes I get very mad . When I first moved to Chicago
a very well known provider took me for .. ready? $2,500.00 and argued . I let myself heal and
a couple of years later I reached out to one in NY everyone knows who she is . Sent her $300
and the site looked grainy and faded . Disgusting but it was not complete and I even said a few
nice things to her . Sometimes you give a little you get a little right? Hell no not in this case. While
she was taking my money she was posting some really hateful comments about me in her personal
corner of her "Do Not See Dangerous" site. Women got sick of reading her crazy ass posts and when they found out they came to me and shared all her hidden pages of who not to see . She befriended one of the girls and "gifted" the template of my sites pages to her.
Last fall one last guy I gave him money not alot thank goodness same crummy design looked
like something out of tijuana mexico . When I said hey this is not very stylish he went nuts
threatening me . So no I would rather teach myself. Some men think we are wealthy and have
money popping out of our holes . I am working on my own to achieve something I know I will like
not at the mercy of someone who every time I turn around I am in debt with .
Good luck to you and if you decide to stay in touch that's fine but I so hate talking about
web sites and am teaching myself as time permits.

First, you already designed the site and now you want to know what to "barter" for with the provider. Sounds like you are looking for "free" sex.
Second, from information provided in the above thread, a designer makes $25 an hour ($56,000/2200 hours worked in a year).
Third, you created a nine page Web site, but you need to add maintenance on a monthly basis.
Fourth, you have spent an average of about one per page. Some pages were easy to create while others may have required a couple of hours. That information you did not provide. Therefore, one can surmised you spent nine hours on the project.
Fifth, the number of hours and the hourly rate equates to about $225. Monthly maintenance should run about $25 a month.
Sixth, for discussion purpose, let's say the provider requires a donation of 350 apples. You have provided 225 apples, which means that your barter is 125 additional apples from you for immediate delivery. At 25 apples a month for maintenance, you should have another barter session in about 14 months, but who's counting.
In short, your hourly rate is $25 with an estimated nine hours. You might be able to adjust that to perhaps 12 hours for a total of $225 to $300, plus an hour's maintenance per month. If she wants more maintenance, you might be able to go up to two hours a month. Any more is not really feasible.
Thinking that a 9 page custom designed website took 9 hours to design is really over simplifying things and completely naive on your part. And why are you and the OP using the term "apples"? If you're gonna resort to BP lingo why not use the term "roses" or "diamonds", at least those sound classy (he says tongue in cheek). This just in, providers accept only MONEY for services, calling it anything else doesn't fool anyone or provide any legal protection.
I used Apples since I do my programming on an Apple Macintosh. Sorry it's just the geek in me.

Accept the project as a fun project. Perhaps it'll generate "real" business for you in the future.
