personal information attached. This includes news articles with picture listings and such. If any of you were arrested, you would not want your name and address published on these boards. If you are inquisitive, seek the information for your own personal use.

Publishing that information on this site is a banable offense. Please don't do that.

Not being facetious, I do get your point, somewhat.  But the cat is out the bag and it's published in the article. Arrest info is public.  The article at large may share information pertinent to the community.  Why ban someone for that?

Gotta agree with this guy. It's public information and I, for one, would not like to meet LE at the door.

With the current climate, I may cool my jets for a long period of time in this hobby.

Everyone's opinion is moot if its TER policy.  It may be at the direction of their legal department.  Maybe TER still believes you are innocent until proven guilty.  Unlike the local press.

If its really an issue, I think taking it up with admin is the way to go!!!

sorry mods. was not aware. just sending a warning to fellow ter members to stay away and be careful in those areas. won't happen again.

All curled up on a couch, a glass of wine in each others hand and you look lovingly into her eyes and say "Honey, you look like a cuddly little cat tonite.... or you can walk up to a woman and call her a pussy and get your eyes clawed out.  The moral of the story?

It's all in the way you say it.

Example-  I saw in a major newspaper yesterday that there was a major bust in the west suburbs. Looks like they busted several women and men, it was an interesting article.

That post gets approved. Unless Sojourner7 is being an ass that day

Example 2-  I saw in yesterdays Sun Times that there was a huge bust in Elmhurst on Tuesday. Looks like a few of our gals got busted, here's a link with their photos and names and addresses from the article.

That post will not get approved because I am an ass everyday.

Yes, information is good and that's what we are all here for. We are not here to further publicize someones arrest and the posting of their personal info, totally uncool.

When grandma and grandpa are reading the paper and see their precious little Johnny arrested for pandering and possession of a controlled substance, how will you feel when grandma goes and does a face plant on the linoleum kitchen floor and dies?  Just sayin..........

We ride a fine line between being informative and invasive.

If a provider is placed under police custody, they have access to there phone and all information in it.  I'm sure plenty of people here have providers they either see on a regular basis or often enough that the providers number is storred in their "hobby" phone.  LE could easily start sending text messages to the stored numbers or even calling them advertising a one day special or new location or something like that and baiting people to the trap. I'll admit that before really thinking about it I probably would have taken the bait, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

How could someone warn others here without violating TER policy by posting links to information about compromised providers?

I think a good policy would be- hobbiest to provider, I'll call you , dont call me. In other words, you call her if you want to see her, you never have her call you out of the blue. If she is running a "special" that is actually a LE trap, you know to stay away. As far as I know dont most providers post specials here, and I guess the next question would be, could LE get their (the provider) info to log in and post a fake special. But I dont know that they would go through all that.

I do worry about my information being transferred from provided to LE. I know for a fact that at least three providers and too agencies have my information in their phone. I was just texted Wednesday night by a provider out of the blue - which was not cool in the slightest.

Anyway, I don't see how posting links to public information on this message board is worse than allowing providers/agencies to solicit via this message board.

Funtime:

I wasn't aware of the policy regarding giving links of articles with photos.  Will not happen again.

Please accept my apologies.

It's been said a hundred times or more on these boards. Get a hobby phone, use it only for the hobby, take the battery out of it when it's not in use. In these days and times you have to think more often with the larger of the two heads. if you have a hobby phone, pre paid cellular, no contract, you virtually can't be tracked down via the phone. Providor information, I would personally contact each providor I have seen and each agency and ask them to destroy any information they have stored on me.

Again, this isn't bomb proof but it does reduce the flow of information out there. Especially you married guys,  make sure that your information is not stored by a providor in any manner. These are the times to pick a few of your all time favorites and let the storm ride itself out... so to speak.

that info was posted about someone who got busted?  I agree with personal info not being posted.  But the name someone uses in the hobby should be shared, otherwise it would be hard to warn others of who to avoid.
