There's no indication that this guy was a priest.

I see no evidence that this guy was a priest. Where does it say he was a priest? He taught at a Catholic High School, but you don't have to be a priest to do that. Don't get me wrong. I'm not here to defend priests, but at the same time, let's not distort the facts. Show us evidence that the guy was a priest, or as usual, you're wrong.

On a related note, this tragic incident will do nothing to help get rid of the stigma that is associated with pay for play

Actually according to the news story the problem seems to be he got what he did not pay for. Trying to re-negotiate the donation after the fact, not a good idea.
