I'm new in Chicago and just wanted to pop by and say hello! I'm looking forward to participating on the boards. It's nice to know there is a community such as this around with like minded people.  

If by luxury hotels you mean 5 star hotels, they are only in downtown Chicago.  There a few 4 star hotels in the Oak Brook, O'hare, and Schaumburg areas.

You'll do just fine in downtown and spending some time in Schaumburg and near O'Hare. Each location opens you up to a different clientele. There's a providers only board here that will probably be a good resource, I recommend getting TER to enable your permissions for that. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I'm familiar with downtown and all the lovely hotels here, but the burbs are a bit of a mystery for me. Good to know there are some options in the areas you mentioned. I do like  5-star luxury, but a 4 star hotel is just fine by me as well  

Thanks too for the suggestions! The PO board is only for ladies with a certain amount of reviews and since I have zip, zilch, nada at the moment I'm forced to annoy you with these questions I'll be sure to seek access to that part of this forum once I've met the requirements.
