Why not do a search on the Detroit Board for those meeting your preferences? That way, you'll get closer to your likes and dislikes rather than relying on a stranger's recommendations. His ATF may be a total turnoff for you.
You can then read others' reviews to look for things that you like ... or dislike.
Learn to use your TER resources and you'll rarely be disappointed.

Of course my first course of action was to search, read the Mich boards, check recent reviews, etc. I found a couple possibilities, but oftentimes providers will have friends in other cities they can recommend, or traveling hobbyists know someone good... word of mouth can be a powerful thing.
