Question about and to providers

Question to the hobbyists:

I just got a call from a provider who is traveling to Chicago right now.  Out of the blue, she calls my cell phone letting me know that she's in town and asking if I wished to get together with her.

My questions are these.  Isn't that rude?  Shouldn't an email be sufficient?  Doesn't that show desparation?

To the providers.  I thought that you all were supposed to lose our information after verification, right?

Be Nice

I would be too shy to just call and I am in Chicago.

If she's a hot provider and I saw her before I may be flattered.  I get a lot of providers contacting me after I have seen them and letting me know their plans.

Your the client so you can always say no or don't call me.

As a general rule of thumb, i would think this shouldn't happen "out of the blue" like you say. Who knows who could have answered the phone when she called or if there's someone in your life that may look thru your recent calls list on the phone(hey, it's only a botton or two away). Sure, you could just say "Sorry, wrong number" or something of that sort, but why take the chance.

On the other hand, i suppose it could depend on what type(if any) of relation you have with this lady. Is she someone that you have seen on a regular basis when she comes to town? Is she someone that talk to on a regular basis thru phone or email? Perhaps she felt that past conversations it would be ok, but overall, it has the potential to cause much more harm then good unless otherwise specifically agreed on before hand by people involved.

This has also happen to be at really bad times.  I had not even been to see this provider but she calls every time she comes in town.  She got my number off of a voice mail I left her two months ago.

Just to set the record straight.  Contacted this provider once and only met up with her once before. Never any previous contact with here prior to or anything since.

Who then is the provider and who is the client??

If a provider were to call me and ask me if I could see her for a date, the roles have just been switched.  She just became a client and should thus be offered a rate for the time of my companionship.
