I had a vasectomy a few weeks ago. The cut has closed but there's still a small scab left. It's still somewhat tender to the touch but I'm feeling the need to participate in hobby. Question is, is it safe for the ladies and myself? Would providers prefer I wait til it's completely healed. Thanks for the help!
for everyone's safety, covered even for oral if the scab is on your penis. A scab is only dried blood and can indicate the area underneath is not sealed. A risk for you. Contact with blood is a risk for the lady.
You should be just fine to resume intercourse. If it is past 2 weeks you should be sterile Take it slow because the delicate tissue inside are still healing but you should be fine. Some neosporin on the small area covered with gauze during sex will protect you from any bacteria or infection. Did you have micro surgery ? This is even better if you did . But if you feel pulling then your stitches may be still internally healing. Yes you are safe just take it slow and easy which I think most of you guys like! And no trips to greece at this time lol! Only your doctor can determine when you are sterile. As to your original question if a scab comes of prematurely it will most likely bleed, so that would be NO on being ready from a strictly hobby stand point. I'm no Dr, but when I looked into a snip-job a year or so back, I rememeber the doc saying that recovery time to full usage would be 2-3 weeks, or (like another said) you could mess up the work that was done. On the scab issue, I'm sure some ladies would be willing to participate due to their own comfort level and ability to avoid infection through being careful, but personally I would not. I gave myself a small razor cut on my sac one time the day before a meeting and was put off enough to call off the date. I might add that the provider thanked me for doing so even though it was 1 day before the meeting. I'm sure it would have been safe, but MY confort level wasn't there. I did reschedule and complete the date a week or so later and had a great time. Unless the provider you are thinking of is on her 'last tour' of Chicago, she will always be there next time. Be safe and take a cold shower. Party in a week or 2.
First, you are no where near ready. Second, you are to be retested six weeks after the procedure for a second sperm count. Your doctor should have told you that. Third, any scab is wrong. You need to wait until you are completely healed where the scab falls off naturally (no picking)
thats your safest bet. I'm sure you are in a hurry to try out your equipment, to make sure everything still works... but it is not worth taking any chance.
Plus, if its somewhat tender to the touch, imagine it would be even more tender if you pushed things and started to hobby to quickly. Plus, as everyone else has stated, you don't want to do anything that will jeopardize the success.
And, as I pointed out, I am not entire sure of the safety of participating in the hobby with a cut that has not completely healed.
