Interesting questions...

Maybe the provider doesn't own a computer??? Reason for no e-mailing...the 2 call system I think is interesting..I know for myself the reason You may Not know my room number is because I may have checked in just prior to your arrival...so You know the address..but Not the room number...and as far as hiding behind the door..it's because if someone else should walk by...I do Not want to expose myself with what I am wearing...I am wearing it for You...You come in I close the door and lock it...and let the Fun begin

2 call is usually to get the room number not the address. Nothing is worse than door knocking with no answer I'df the provider is running late and isn't comfortable letting you on just yet.

Also, I've been dismayed when gents arrive 20 minutes early. Sometimes I'm just getting there and there is a chance they can see my car/liscene plate. I'm NOT comfortable with that.

As far as hiding behind the door, top providers are usually in lingerie. Why would we fling the door open to expose ourselves (or you for that matter lol) to just anyone passing by.

Some have an uncanny ability to discern whether you're safe or not from your tone of voice, whether you ask the wrong questions, etc. Doesn't seem to be the best way to screen but a lot of new providers do it this way. Some don't have computers - instead, a friend posts their ads but he/she doesn't want to deal with their emails.
