I'm just curious.... wondering if anyone (provider or hobbyist) has ever had the situation where you actually bump into each other in public?  I'm thinking somewhere like the airport, a restaurant, club, or even on the street.  If that's happened, how was it acknowledged?

I smile, if they look at me and keep going but don't say anything.  

Once, at a Kane County Cougars game.....  I spent the rest of the game hoping she would order a corn dog.
Also, once as I was walking through a hotel lobby I saw a provider checking in.  
Both times I noticed them, but they didn't see me.  If they had noticed me, I would remind myself that DISCRETION IS KING, smiled, and not said a word.

Kind of rude if were both alone and she doesn't acknowledge me at all, other than a glance.

I posted about it on the GD board, similar topic.  I happened to be on the same early morning flight as a provider I've seen several times and really enjoy.  We smiled at each other while waiting to board but that was it.  As luck had it, full flight and they gate checked my bag so I ended up in baggage claim with her, where I would normally never be, and then we chatted while waiting for our bags.  By this time I had already contacted her agency and made an appointment for that night, but she didn't know it yet and I didn't say anything...in fact at no point did our conversation go anywhere near the hobby...that would have been a major faux pas.  She was unfamiliar with the city so we rode the train in together, and fortunately she was an easy walk from a station on the same line two stops before mine.  She said goodbye, good to see you, etc, and went to get off and I said "see ya later."  An innocent comment but I'm fact I did, which resulted in a good laugh and an awesome time when I showed up at her door that evening.

Saw one of the local ladies at a restaurant talking with a gentleman. It wasn't acknowledged at all until later in an email.  

and one of them I never saw the guy again and he had been a regular I saw at least once a month.  Late night I looked a wreck and we made eye contact and walked away from each other.

I was biking along the lakefront and saw a provider I had seen before.  She was getting a run in and was headed in the opposite direction.  She didnt see me, but she is/was a favorite of mine and so I couldn't miss her.  She looked so good...I nearly fell off my bike trying to get a better look at her!

someone I met at a Meet and Greet, she was at a restaurant with another woman and I was with friends.   Nothing was said, but there was the casual look like I have seen you before.    

I noticed someone out in public and he noticed me, however we just kept walking as if we never knew each  other.  But sure enough later on that day I had a email saying hi I saw you.  

I've had some friends worry about this. Us ladies do have lives outside this industry. Some of us do date. And some of us date guys who are older, bigger, smaller, etc.

I was headied to the elevator and saw the next guy get out with flowers and a brown bag of booze headed down the same hallway I just came from. Nice cover...

If she's with another guy, she's with another guy and shouldn't be bothered. It doesn't make any difference if we think he's a client or an SO or a business associate. Being in this hobby means not acknowledging the other person if they're not alone and even if they are alone, don't assume they'll say hi. Look at them, if they look away, it's a sign to back off and not say a thing. If they want to say hi, they'll smile or give some other clue that it's OK. Never assume anyone is OK with this.

When I was in the DC area on a date with my girlfriend we had just finished dinner and at the movie theater. When a man comes out of the line from buying his ticket with his friends and points to me and says "I know you!!!!!"
I didn't know what to say. I wasn't all made up. Just looked like a regular girl at the movies with a friend. He continued to say this over and over again until my girlfriend (Greek goddess) almost took him out for being rude.
I know I had done almost 250 XXX films but have some class! Some people just want to eat their popcorn and watch a movie like the rest of everyone else with out a scene.

I saw a women in the NW burbs about 10 years ago. About 3 years later I bump into her at my kids school.  I don't think she remembered me but I sure remembered her.  Wow that was scary.

he very well may want to use something against his co worker, competitor, etc.Sounds far fetched, but I've had that concern expressed to me when I broke the news. Then an ended friendship due to the constant paranoia on the friend's part. Totally innocent relationship, but with someone who dabbles in P4P, it very well can look like everyone a girl is with 'could be a John'.

At least how you vs the guy would want it to play out.

It did happen to me once. If I would have been alone I would have been able to handle it better.
I just felt very nervous and worried as I was with a group of friends.  
I think I mentioned something about meeting each other  at the health club and she followed the lead.

Some of you are considered celebrities and many porn stars eat up being recognized in public. I think those of you in this hobby want more privacy and for good reason. In any event, that guy was a doofus for saying it over and over.

You know PP it is so funny. I have been and never was like that even in porn or anything else in my lifetime. If I am out with friends/family or anyone just have the decency to be respectful. If I am at a convention and doing signings ~~ well that is totally different. Oh, by the way... you are right... don't mess with those Greek girls... She almost took his head off!!! LOL

Try my side where you just want to go out and enjoy yourself. I am very nice to people who are truly trying to be kind and don't want to say anything out loud and come up to you... which happens. That is fine. I have actually bought them a drink at a bar and had a nice conversation with them and that was it. Then you get the obnoxious person who yells out in public acting like an ass to his friends thinking you will respond. I don't know. Maybe it is because I grew up in Texas and would like a gentleman to be a true gentleman no matter where he is. Could be just me.

The porn star I knew ate it up when people recognized her in public, much to the detriment of her husband who was none too pleased with random guys hitting on her. It make him angry that she wasn't offended by the intrusions on their personal lives but she was always the consumate actress and public figure. She loves the attention...

Thanks honey!!! That is sweet! There is a time and a place for publicity.... I do it where and when I am supposed to. I am nice to the people who are polite to me. All I ask is for the same.
