Haggling is a huge no no for me. My prices are my prices. I am not mean about it....but I don't do the lets make a deal on my prices.

If I am touring I will adjust my rate to the regional tolerance....or run a special. However, if that is not enough for a guy then I am not the one he needs to call.

I have a flat rate which is all inclusive, and I put a lot of thought into his session with me. IT'S NOT JUST ME....it is what reputable providers do.

We all incur a lot of expense to maintain our businesses. Not marketing, or anything like that.....I am talking about things that make our sessions DISTINCT. Everything you can imagine from very expensive massage oils (that have to be ordered).....to specific alcohol a client may request. I just switched the type condoms I use which cost me almost $200.00 for a small case. I know this type condom will make this a better session for him. I don't wear lingerie for any other purpose except to please a client. I am a boxer shorts wife beater type.....however I probably have 200 different sets of lingerie. It is the cost of running our businesses.

Usually our clients are more comfortable at very upscale hotels. Most of the time there are no Priceline discounts at those type hotels. For business purposes it may not be cool to get a room at Motel 6.

So when you know you offer top notch service....combined with a luxury hotel suite, and whatever is going to complete a clients fantasy.....hair, nails, feet, brows, lashes, everything on you is on point, you have supplied his music, asked his preferences on everything from smells he likes to is he latex allergic, we will not get into the time it takes to screen a client...... and here is this man trying to talk us down on our prices.....?

Not happening.....

Recently there was a very lengthy thread
on the MN Board regarding "haggling"

I am curious as to how all of you feel about the
subject.  Hobbyists & Providers please feel free
to respond as this is a subject that seems to lurk.

Personally I feel like every career or job has certain stresses and haggling is one we deal with that just comes with the territory.

I don't get insulted nor do I feel offended when a gentlemen calls and can't pay my listed rate.

With the economy the way it is you're seeing rates lowering and less frequency from the hobbyist end.

I am curious as to others thoughts on this matter?

In this economy, I can't fault anyone for trying to get the best deal possible, and I'm sure some ladies are willing to take a bit less during a slow week (or if they feel the need to play as much as the gentleman does). The things that should always be kept in mind are:

1. Respect the lady's preferences--if her ad says no negotiating, don't waste her time.

2. Be respectful in talking about donations--you're not buying a new set of snow tires. It's about how much you can afford and what her time is worth--it's never how much she is worth. We all know that any lady willing to spend time with us is priceless, right?

3. All negotiations should be complete before the actual meeting takes place. Just as it's tacky for ladies to upsell, it's tacky for gentlemen to ask for a discount on site.

Your rate is yours to maintain, discount, have a special, or anything you want. Some guys will haggle and have all the money just to see if you will entertain the thought. As a rule, say no to people who want to do this because, it's your body, your time, your rate. If you get to know someone and want to extend something their way, that is between you and them. Otherwise, you'll get a reputation for not being firm and everyone that reads this, will expect the same treatment.

but I don't get insulted or act rude
if a hobbyist does haggle me.

It's just part of this business in general.
Like I stated previous it's part of the
everyday stresses that we as providers
deal with.

There just seems to be a lot of whining
going on about haggling. I feel like you always
need to be kind no matter what.

There is no need to be insulted over something
that is never going change and "comes with the territory."  I am just curious as to how others feel on the subject.

The providers in question were being asked repeatedly by a particular gentleman to slash their prices in half or almost free. You might not feel insulted, but some might feel harassed.

To each their own.

Personally, I have only had one guy haggle me in the past year and a half. He is on my DNS list and has been set to ignore here on TER.

Perhaps it is the gentlemen that contact me or that I have good luck, but I don't think it is a normal part of the business.

Of course I will have gentlemen ask me about my RS2K incentive, as I advertise that, but haggling me to see them at half my rate or pro-bono (as the gent above) has only happened once. However, my experience might be atypical.

We are sharing our BODIES and SOULS with strangers, not providing legal services. Let me repeat that: WE ARE SHARING OUR BODIES AND SOULS WITH STRANGERS. That is intense when you really think about it. Anyone who haggles a provider for free or discounted services should be frowned upon, in my opinion. They should see those who are in their price range or save up for those who are not.

The discussion on the MN board explains it all.

2 cents.

I have a couple of rules when it comes to 'haggling' on price.  A) it's not our place as hobbiests to say you charge too much.  When guys get on here and say 'man! 600/hr, that's too steep', I find it ignorant.  Now that having been said, I also find 600 too steep and would not call a provider at that rate as to come down to my 300/hr rate would be an insult to her but that's her rate, so it's not my place to comment on it publicly.  However, I would haggle with say a 350/hr girl and try to maybe get 300 or maybe geet some extra time for the full rate.  I might say, that normally I would pay $300, but I was very interested in that provider, would she possibly be able to accomidate the lower rate, or maybe allow me to stay an extra 15 minutes or something.  If she says no...no big deal.  I either hobby elsewhere or cough up the money (at that point I'd probably just cough it up...lil smeg is doing the thinking by then).  B) if a provider is running a special rate...don't ask for a discount on top of that...it's not "double-coupon" day at the store C) If a provider does give me a un advertised discount or extra time, I would not put it in the review.  I migth say that the session ran long and she was understanding, but I'm not about to take a nice thing that a provider did for ME and have everyone on the board thinking that she's made a permanent rate change for the lower.  D) If I did haggle a better price or more time, 90% of the time if I have a great session, I end up tipping that amount difference anyway.  Most higher price providers have earned the differential for a reason.  Once I've sampled those reasons, I generally feel the difference is worth it.

Long story short, I think most hobbiests are not above looking for a discount and most providers are understanding of being asked as long as it's presented as 'I can't really afford it' vs. 'you are not worth it'.

But that's just my 1 cent (I haggled it down from 2)
SMEGMA!!

No one ever wants to suffer the implication that "They're not worth it", nor should they, because most often they are worth it. Thus "haggling" is naturally found to be distasteful, and is damned rude. With that said, it isn't at all uncommon for repeat clients to be accomodated in pricing, or time spend, and even in services provided, when it serves as a "Thank you" for being a loyal client. What you wouldn't offer a stranger, and would be offended in even discussing, you may willingly offer to a client who over time has become a known quantity, and possibly, a trusted aquaintence. The point is, that at the root of all of this is the basic interaction of two individuals interacting. It is business, and then again, it is often more. Yes?

I've been seeing the ladies for a few years now, and would never think of asking her for a discount. I make my decision from her ad and her reviews. If she wants too much, in my opinion, for the quality of the services that her reviews suggest are appropriate, I simply don't call her. Truth be known, there are so many truly lovely ladies on the various sites that there is never a problem finding one that meets my physical needs and is in my price range. I actually engage in anti-haggling. I routinely give the lady her requested amount, and note that I threw in an extra twenty. First of all, sharing her intimacies is something that I value a great deal, so why wouldn't I let her decide its value. Secondly, by tipping up front, I've usually been treated to exemplary service. If you check my reviews you will note that I usually rate the ladies fairly high. That's because I do my screening before I see them, and they seem to reciprocate to my up front tip.

I don't haggle with a lady.  I've assumed they would rather not haggle either. If I can't afford to see someone, then I won't.  The only time I would discuss the topic was if the lady asked if I was comfortable with her price.

In general though, a lady can always announce a special price, without changing her published rate.

The level of clientele
is truly exemplary

I love Chicago!!! It's
truly a beautiful city full of
wonderful classy, not to mention
distinguished gentlemen.

You guys are great.

The way I look at it, if the lady sets her donation at a certain level, it suits the balance of her "resume" with the amount of attention she gets.  If the lady has overpriced her time, then I expect the balance would shift and she would receive less calls. At that point, its up to her.

We have all seen ladies offer short term "stimulus" discounts if times are slow.  This is obviously meant to temporarily put things back in balance for them personally.

If I am interested in a particular lady and her donation is more than I can afford at the time, I will save my pennies until I can spoil myself.

I personally only haggled once.  A lady offered to have a friend join us during an appointment I had already scheduled with her.  I could not afford the full amount she advertised on her website, but I explained to her that I would be delighted to see them both and offered what I could.

I'll just say .... It was a memorable experience!

And never will. On the other side of the coin, and for the same reasons I won't haggle, I do not tip either. But I almost slways bring a gift, sometimes a gift card, which is sort of like tipping.

I just go with I can afford, and with the tough times we've been in, guys just have to stay within their means...I do....and I do without....

Every situation is different. Once contacted a provider to see about availabilty couple weeks in advance. She wondered why I didn't want to see her sooner. I said I was replenishing my "fun" budget (I was waiting for next payday0. She misinterpreted it as bargaining and offered a discount. I felt bad because I feel a lady's rates are her rates, just as her services provided are ironclad. If she doesn't do "X" it's bad form to ask. Anyway, just said I wasn't trying to knock down her rates and I'd have her rate in a couple weeks. It's all about respect and that's the best I can bring to a rendevous.

I have said it once, I will say it again. Never try to negotiate the lady's donation. There are other places where negotiation is a must but not here. It is what it is. If the donation can not be afforded, then too bad. Knowing where you stand financially is the key here. Are there ladies with asking donation more than what we can afford, sure they are. But hey, either start saving more or simply except the fact that will never be able to meet with them. But never never   try to negotiate the donation.
I always have an additional $ dollars on top of the donation for gift and tip. I just can't show up with empty hands.

As a rule I don't contact ladies that advertise rates higher than I wish to pay, and I don't try to haggle with ladies that might be borderline.  That being said, I have met ladies and paid less than their going rate on a number of occasions. The circumstances vary, sometimes it's just a matter of timing.

For example, I have contacted ladies that do not advertise their rate.  When they respond with rates that are too high for me, I politely say no thank you, but I do mention the reason ($) that I am not interested.  I'm not haggling, just letting her know that I would be interested for a lower rate.  A day or two later I might receive another email letting me know she is offering a discount.  Is this because I "haggled" or is she just being a smart businesswoman and realizes that making $300 instead of 400 is better than sitting in her hotel alone and making zero.

Dear Sexy Avery,

I understand the economy is disturbing but so is the feeling that our careers could be treated as an auction or fleamarket...

Just my two cents and chin up chickadee;)

If you go to the grocery store and fill up a cart with items and when you check out and they give you a price do you haggle with the cashier? No of course not! Most of the providers have their donations listed on their websites and if not one email or phone call  will usually obtain you that information.(I do not always trust donations listed on reviews)

It is not what anyone is worth it is what someone feels their time is worth, if it is too much just move on. I would love to have a Bentley in my garage but life is what it is, live within your means or become a big time banker and get bailed out by the government when you screw up.

If I want to see a particular lady, I pay the price listed. If the price seems too high, I don't. What I don't want is for the lady in question to think of me as "that weasel who tried to talk me down in price". It would be in the back of my mind durig the session, and take away from my enjoyment of our time. Once I get to the room, I want all thoughts of payment to be gone from both of our minds.
