Some of us are completely unable to get any cash. I am disabled following a stroke. Would you prefer we write a check? I actually once had to do that, and the nice provider accepted it and then went right to my bank to cash it (and they had to call me to verify that it was authorized since my handwriting on my signature no longer looks like mine). I am disabled and unable to independently leave my house to get cash, and there is no way to explain to a family member why they would ever have to go to a cash station to get me a couple of hundred dollars in cash, since I essentially NEVER leave the house except to go to the doctor or to family functions like thanksgiving or christmas dinner. While other people's situations may differ, some may have similar problems (or different ones). If not for: 1. paypal, 2. debit cards (including netspend), and the rare use of a check (which is even more problematic) I would never again be able to see a provider for the rest of my life, and would never again have any sex of any kind. Do you understand now why some people would want to use debit or credit cards? I really wish that TER would add an item on provider profiles as to methods of payment accepted, as if one of these alternatives to cash is not accepted, it is simply a waste of mine and the providers time to even try to set up an appointment for the rare occasions when I am home alone. This is why I have had exactly 3 appointments in five years, and you'll see very few reviews from me these days.
Just an FYI we can't see the number after the sale goes through...It doesn't save it like you think it does. I have a business for this, and accept credit cards, and I have never had a charge back or a problem with it. A lot of my clients prefer to do it this way.
