I recently had conversations with a couple of providers about the PM system.  They mentioned how a number of guys try to book appointments via PMs.  Just wondering how many ladies accept appointments via this route?  If you do, is it dependent on who the guy is [has many reviews, a board presence, many whitelists, a regular]?

The ladies I talked to do not accept appointments sent by PMs from first time clients.  One of the reasons is that they are not on TER 24/7.  Apparently some guys think that providers are on the board all day.  They forget that these ladies have a life outside the hobby.  The sad part is that the guy acts so offended when they don't receive an immediate response to their PM....yet they don't bother to call or e-mail the provider!  The PM system is not the only form of communication out there.  In fact, some providers don't have VIP status to read PMs.

Another reason is that some guys wind up not being serious and then want to be penpals only.  I've heard that this happens a lot.  The guy simply blabs away and is never serious about booking a session.  Some guys view it as a courtship.  As I've said before....Hobbying is not dating!  The penpals and the love sick puppy dogs have stalker written all over them.

A third reason - some of these ladies have schedulers.  If you want an appointment, e-mail or call.  The schedulers usually don't have access to PMs.

Hey Chi Town I agree with your post.. i am not a VIP to get PMs here.. i much prefer the gents email me through my site so they can then see my calendar and when I am AVAILABLE  as i work for a nationally known store and my schedule of being open is based on whether or not i am working for xyz store..

GOOD POST.. but some as you said some guys get irked when we dont answer their PMS.. sorry as you stated most arent VIP Here..

In my opinion it's an attempt to avoid screening...depending on my mood I will redirect to my private email, most often I just ignore.  
I do not see this as a serious attempt to pursue.

This is a business.

Now every business may not use Twitter to contact or help customers, but some do. Some businesses may not use e-mail, but some do. I believe that if you want to attract a variety of clientele you will need a variety of methods. I use every resource available to connect with clients currently, except text messaging. There is a specific reason for that however, but even that might change soon.

PM is a bit tedious, as if I can't get to TER, there may be a delay. However, I make sure TER sends me e-mail alerts when I do have new mail. I never want anyone I see to feel ignored or neglected. If fact, it is one of my goals and part of my "Vanica Love Pledge" to make him/her feel like the center of the world and treat him/her as such, even when they are not in my boudoir.

Though I still check references and never go by just white lists or reviews unless I know the lady who gave the white list personally.  

I do know many ladies are not VIP so can't view them or know how to get into them at all.  The PM system is not very user friendly in it's new set up, as I hear from many ladies(I haven't had issues though).

If you don't hear back from your PM as quick as you need call or email and see if you get a better TAT on responce.  Just my thoughts, Sage

I always ask that gents fill out my secure booking form if they contact me via TER- or send me a private email to book a date. TER is not easy for me to access all the time and trying to go between email and PM to verify and book someone is a nightmare.

I agree....call or email the lady if you want to book. You will probably get a faster response.

The prob with the PM system , at least for the hobbyist, is there is no way to know if a lady has Ter Mail. But that aside , I tend to send an email which includes  info about myself plus my TER handle and then send a PM to verify that it was indeed me that sent the email.  In my experience this has been helpful to the ladies in that they can then easily verify my board history...reviews and White List Referral.  Mostly I've received very positive remarks about this approach. And it tends to create a greater confort level for the lady.    Once our initial contact has been established I personally prefer our communications to be by email.

Pm-ing shouldn't be the be all end all of trying to communicate with a provider. As a provider without VIP access, I will never really know was is in all of the messages I have in my inbox, and it sucks because there is nothing I can do about it but fork up money for the membership; But honestly, I would rather work for my provider access

Next time gents, just do both parties a favor and follow up with an email or call just to be sure.

I only use the PM for initial contact but most providers reply back stating they have checked me out thru my reviews and white list referrals and I am good to go... and then we move the correspondence to email.  I have had nothing but positive feedback from the ladies I've contacted this way.  Even the few ladies who have replied back asking me to go thru their screening process via email or their sight didn't seem put off by it and all but they have been the exception and not the norm.

I usually only contact providers this way by replying back to their posts on the discussion board. If they don't want us to reply back to their post, they should let us know their preferred way of contact or at least that they aren't able to receive PM's.

Just my 2 cents.

Based on how many times we still have people requesting information using an alias, I'm guessing that the problem CTP is discussing has to do with 'joe hobbyist' with 0 reviews and/or virtually non-existent board history. They probably breach a whole host of protocols and don't provide the right sort of information in their initial PM. Given that they are also the ones to get frustrated at a lack of immediate response, there's a good chance that I'm right on this.

I'm pretty sure that the guys with 100+ reviews receive a completely different type of response than those with 1-5% of their accumulated reviews.

Then the OP should clarify these things as this method of making initial contact with the ladies appears to have worked out quite well for both STP, myself and the ladies we've seen.  I know there are exceptions to every rule but if the ladies have a problem with this, I'd much rather hear it from them then another hobbyist, no matter who they feel they are.

If Joe Hobbyist contacts a lady with the wrong sort of information via email, what's the difference?  She can just ignore him or direct him onto how she would like for him to go forth in setting up a date with her.  I'm sure the hobbyist gets just as frustrated with an unanswered email as he does an unanswered PM.  I don't recall seeing any venting on the board because providers aren't replying to PM's. Someone can't PM via an alias so I don't see what that has to do with anything.  Ladies are claiming they can't get their PM's off here? Then why do we hobbyist have the option on their profile to "contact the provider".  There are providers who have reviews who don't have that option.  

If the ladies don't want to be PM'd from a hobbyist, then I suggest they don't post on the board advertising to hobbyist their services. It's kind of how I think this whole "advertising" thing works.  Post an ad... hope for responses.  It sounds like to me the OP is suggesting us hobbyist shouldn't be replying to these ladies ads or if we do, we need to take extra steps.  You don't have to be a marketing expert to know that the more difficult you make it for your target audience to get to your product, the more likely they will go somewhere else.

As for this thread in general... WHO CARES if a hobbyist PM's a provider to inquire about setting up a date. It's a function that is provided on this site. If they provider doesn't want to talk to him, ignore him just like you do on email.  Why is it some hobbyist business to decide what we can and can't do with the PM function.  What else are we as hobbysist supposed to do with this PM function then?

While I'm on my soap box... Alias's... although I don't have, nor have I ever posted under, an alias WHO CARES. It's a option offered on this site.  If you don't like people using it, ignore them. Calling people out who are using alias's is actually more annoying then the actual people using them.  As long as the option to post under an alias is here, people are allowed to do so.  

BTW, this thread wasn't really a "Question" about the PM sytsem as much as it was the OP telling everyone what they can and can't use the PM system for. I'm just curious, who made it the OP's "job" to be the discussion board, and I guess hobbying, "protocol police" around here anyway?

OneGent1 understood the gist of my thread.  You then twist it into a rant on the entire use of the PM system.  I focused the discussion on one particular use of the PM system for a certain set of folks.  The approach that you and STP use is something I've done in the past.  Ladies have not had an issue with that since we have reviews, a screen presence, and plenty of whitelists.  However, a guy with no reviews and posts..different story.

Again, these ladies are not on TER 24/7.  Do you expect them to be?  And, as I said before, these ladies have screeners and they do not have access to the provider's PMs.

As for the rest of your rant, some people care and that is why they posted or sent PMs about the topic.  Thus, it was a question and not some edict as you claim it to be.  I asked a question and also voiced my opinion.  You also voiced your opinion and people can digest it however they please.

Now sure what the last sentence is all about.  People have the right to post and start discussions.  If you think that is my job, you are sadly mistaken.
