providers and clients alike hate to pull hairs out of their mouth while dining..

Until about late 80's, a lady with pubic hair was considered sexy (evidence: 80s porn). Then something happened. Being shaved became the fashion. Almost every provider I've seen has been bald - some with painful looking razor burns.

I personally find completely shaven pubes unsexy (looks prepubescent to me).

Question for the gents: Do you find a completely bald lady sexy? If not, how much hair would you find sexy?

Question for the ladies: Do you find yourself sexy when you are shaved or do you do that because you think that's what the men like

I've always been more of the neatly groomed. I prefer bald and shaved clean, however a nicely groomed landing strip is acceptable to me as well.

...as as bare as can be. But I can imagine for a woman that must be terribly difficult to maintain?Once, one of the gals I saw was shaved, but not skin-smooth. It was like stubble. Not very sexy nor enjoyable for "downtown"activities on my part.  On the other hand, if a lady has her privates properly trimmed, high and tight one might say, then having hair can be sexy too! But I'm not sure I would partake in any "giving", I guess it would be on a case by case basis.

My personal preference is a neatly groomed landing strip.

patch. It is of a modest proportion and very nicely centered so that it is entirely unobtrusive. It doesn't get in the way. ;) lol My boyfriend (who is nearly 50) convinced me to cultivate it, and I am never looking back.

I have always felt like that you just deal with it, just as if in a civvie relatioship! Preference like others is a small centered well trimmed lading strip! Too me that is just so srotic and extremely sexy!!

So as long as there is some grooming I'm fully in favor of a little bush, in fact I prefer it to fully shaved, especially if there are obvious razor burns. If it looks painful, it isn't sexy.

I also appreciate guys who man scape and are groomed nicely!

The question of pubic hair styling is a pertinent one.  The answer is, "It all depends."

Simply put, not all ladies —and not all lady parts and related skin and hair types— are created equal.  Thus it's impossible to endorse any one style of pubic grooming for all, though I think we can say that smoothness is desirable, irrespective of all other variables.

The style should be suited to the individual.  Some ladies have so little pubic hair that no real styling is called for.  At the other extreme, some have some that is so thick and / or widely distributed that no amount of shaving, waxing or depilation is going to result in a smooth look or feel.

Some hair-skin combinations lend themselves more readily to certain kinds of treatment.  Coarse, thick hair and delicate skin is a difficult one.  Female pubic hair can vary in texture from silky strands to steel-wool stubble —and skin types come in an equally variable range of types.

In this man's opinion, ladies endowed with a giant triangle of pubic hair should not attempt the bare look.  The results, even when freshly achieved, are never pleasing.

And the best overall look for any individual —even assuming ideal conditions in all other respects— can vary a great deal in relation to body type, size and proportion.  The difference between pleasing proportions and not-so-pleasing ones may be difficult to put into words, but it's immediately apparent to the eye.

Details, details: an untrimmed bush, a trimmed one, the "landing strip" look, the bare look —each is potentially pleasing or not, depending on all the other related aesthetics and the way the woman carries herself.  Perhaps the best pubic hair style is the one that least calls attention to itself.

And, truth be told, some people have no sense whatever of proportion in anything related to personal grooming, intimate or otherwise —and who call attention to themselves only by virtue of their utter lack of style.

All of these things are true for men and women and head and facial hair.  We all know of many men with unaesthetic stylings, ranging from absurd comb-overs to jungly neck-beards, with many variations in between.  We all know women who choose hairstyles completely unsuited to them in any number of ways.

And yet, at the end of the day —or at the crack of dawn, high noon, or the classic 5 à 7— it really does come down to personal preference on both sides of the equation.  In the dark, all cats are grey and à chacun son goût.  And à chaque con, as well.  [Check your French dictionary here, if needed.]

I prefer less hair, but unshaven isn't a deal breaker or anything.

As a dude, I keep mine pretty short up top, then the balls totally shaved. Makes my dick look bigger ( I need all the help I can get..lol) plus I think girls are more willing to get down and dirty with the BJ that way. But who knows.

...closely trimmed over most of the mound and the lips on down bare/smooth.

I find it very sexy if the lady has a nice triangle that goes all the way to the bikini line.

I do not find completely shaved  very sexy - I find it prepubescent

I stay, generally, pretty clean shaven. But I always keep a line, a tuft, something. I do not like looking down there and looking like a baby. PLUS in order to look like a baby, I'd have to shave 3 times a day. I can grow a full bush in a week. I dont know I guess my hair grow particularly fast.

At least for me- I keep the lips smooth. Who wants to "kiss" hairy "lips". But everything above that isn't as important. I always keep it very neat, and lately shaved except for a tuft. But I am growing it out at the moment, and just plan to keeps the lips bare.

I really do agree that no hair at all just looks pre pubescent to me, on me. As far as girls I am attracted to, it doesn't matter.

But I am also a weirdo who thinks under arm hair is hella sexy on women. Meh. I guess I'm weird.

I completely agree with you regarding tuft and lips.  I happen to also enjoy tan lines.  I guess all those years in puberty sneaking my dad's PB magazines. I am a VERY visual guy, and having groomed bush invites attention.  I have this one image of an x GF stuck in mind that is so sexy to me.  We are about to do the nasty and she is in the kitchen, nude, with a nice brunette bush.  A friend calls (way before caller ID or cells) and as my GF is talking on the phone, I admire her figure, the tuft of curly hair from below her waist, while she is chatting away as if she were at the office fully clothed.  That visual, with her bush being a big part of it, has helped me through many a dry spell.

Jamie, I totally agree with you -  having no hair down there does make it seem quite taboo actually.

I am an old school guy who prefers a full bush also.  There is something about it that is so sexy to me.   Jamie, I swear we must be soul mates because I am a "weirdo" like you who is very turned on by the under arm hair!!  Another thing that I cannot understand is why no guy would be turned on by seeing a lady sunbathing on her stomach and she has that super fine hair on her back glistening in the sun.  To me that is super hot!!  OK, I am busted, I am a weirdo also!  Anyone else care to join the club with Jamie and me or are we the only 2 "weirdo's"  out there?

I am with you man! Razor burns are unattractive, completely smooth seem - as you said - almost taboo. I fully agree that under arm hair can be sexy and the superfine hair on a lady's back is sexy too. I'll tell you what's really sexy: a tiny line of fine hair running vertically down from the belly to the pubes.

I find it funny that in porn, if the lady has hair, it's often classified as "fetish". I'd argue that it should be the other way around.

I always wonder if ladies find themselves sexy when they are bald or do they do it because they think that's what guys like.

PS: I don't know any civvy lady who is clean shaven

My experience is exactly the opposite.  I think it depends on age.  Younger girls generally = bare.

I think in general most ladies shave bald because they think guys like it. I mean no one likes hairs in their mouth. But as I said before if the lips are bare, that problem is taken care of.

But I also do know a lot of civvie girls who shave, but then it is also an age thing. Most girls in their 20's shave whereas ladies in their 30s+ usually dont. Well maybe 35+.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes but to me, hair signifies that the lady is an adult and no hair reminds me of children. So even if it isn't much- I like to see some.

dark short hair landing strip. approx 1 inch x 3 inches, the rest clean shave

I was with a provider yesterday.  Lots of stubble, felt like I was riding a gravel road.

Give me a small soft mound of fur any day....

I agree with those who have said they prefer hair down there. Maybe its because I am a bit older, but when I was coming up girls didn't shave that area. It does have its benefits, but I get turned on when I go down and she has hair. Yummmm

Assuming that a basic biological factor such as gender attraction does not change across cultures or in short periods of time, I am inclined to think that this is a generational thing in the west. Oriental women do not shave - even in highly sophisticated and rich societies like Japan. American women did not shave - as you can see if you thumb through older issues of playboy or see porn from before the 90's. So what changed? Even today, many French women do not shave even their underarms.

Here are a couple of studies/articles on the subject of female pubic hair that you might find interesting.

Also do a google search "what percentage of women shave their pubic hair"

My mom told me, as a teenager, "Never EVER shave down there! They shaved me when I was pregnant and it itched like crazy!" So being the curious/rebellious teenager, what did I do- I shaved. And as far as the itching goes- after you get used to it, it no longer itches. But the first few times it does.. But after then I continue to keep myself bare. Why? My boyfriends like it. (yes I was a very FAST teenager- but I'm sure your not surprised)

Then at 18- I had my first sugardaddy and he was 50. He LOVED me to keep a full bush. So I did, most of the time. He also happened to be my photographer, so I have many many photos of me with a full bush.

And I guess it was him who made me realize that bare looks prepubescent. I don't think it is weird that some of us like hair- we all have our own fetishes.

But like Ricky pointed out with that article - I do think it is quite interested the cultural differences that exist. And as far as me, with the underarm thing-  as sexy as it is, I have to shave for hygiene reasons. If I keep hair there, I tend to sweat more.

To me this topic is really fun and interesting. I love hearing about other's experiences, fantasies and turn ons. So I do hope people keep responding to this thread, because I love reading it! :)

This is interesting and may be something that us ladies, especially in this profession- should consider.
. "Last year, Emily Gibson, director of the health centre at Western Washington University in the USA, launched an appeal to put a stop to the trend for hair removal because, she claimed, it increases the risk of infection and sexually transmitted diseases. “Pubic-hair removal,” she said, “naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles, leaving microscopic open wounds.” She also said it was not unusual to see patients with boils and abscesses on their genitals from shaving. And all, it seems, because of a growing feeling that there might be something unacceptable about female genitals in their natural state."

I don't think shaving is the only way to go. Could be a few ouch moments with that. I shave my head, as in the one where my brain resides. Once in awhile a razor slip can leave a stinging cut for a few days. Imagine that razor slip downstairs!!!!

I do however get waxed each month down there. YES, painful, but feels good afterwards and ladies appreciate and comment favorably on it. A boyzillian, front to back. Anyone comment on laser removal, I'm considering it?? I think it would be the cleanest and smoothest, without the pain, and stubble, bumps, etc.

Anyone?
