It's a fusion restaurant that's just like it sounds with a modern motif. I've been there twice and the food was very good. I had a coconut milk, seafood risotto that was fantastic.
But I personally like the places like Chicago Chop house and Gene & Georgettis for their 1930's Chicago environment.
I'm wondering if anyone could throw me a suggestion for a Chicago restaurant. I'll be there for my birthday with friends.
I'm looking for something that attracts a bit of an eclectic ground. Not necessarily "5 star" - in fact that's not the atmosphere I want at all. Awesome food in a relaxed and groovy atmosphere where I'm not going to look out of place as a girl anachronism: feathered hat, lace gloves and elegant but sexy dress.
Have you tried Metromix.com ? The site has great suggestions and info.... Have a great time, Kisses !

Although it is not ethnic. They have GREAT steaks and sides-the portions are enough for 2 to share. As far as atmosphere...I always think gangsters wih tommy guns are going to bust in the door any minute. Ha! Ha!
If you're a fan of Top Chef ... a couple of years ago, an upcoming chef from Chicago, Stephanie Izzard, won Top Chef. She just opened a wonderful, eclectic restaurant just west of downtown on Randolph street called "The Girl and the Goat". It is incredible and moderately priced.
Its so diverse and everyone has different definitions of terms like "relaxed and groovy" and "eclectic" and so many ethnic food options...I think the Metromix idea is probably a good way to go....
Luo's Peking House in Downtown Oak Park. Oak Park had a lot of local attractions you can walk around to. It's also a muti-ethnic culture little town 10 mins away from downtown chicago.

Where I won't be gawked at if I go in gothic fashion, or if I choose to wear a tight collar, tie, fedora. Where the unusual doesn't make people uncomfortable and I wont' feel like an alien because I don't fit into their neat boxed view of the universe.
It'll my birthday and I spend a lot of time being conservative as Lauren, so as not to make my date or anyone else uncomfortable. This particular evening, I plan to enjoy being myself, and would prefer not to be stared at by squares like I'm a circus freak LOL
Search and hit up...Ms Natalie Rose, she is on this board at times. After spending some time with her, I think she might be able to steer you in the right direction. Good Luck and Happy Birthday ( in advance )

Italian - Old Irving Park (very romantic and not too pricey) Japanese - Murai Wicker Park, Damen and Division (very romantic but very pricey depending on how many pieces of sushi you get) Fondue - Lincoln Park on LSD (AGAIN romantic flamenco music, soft lighting and just downright sexy)
Try Al Hambra, link attached. You can request one of their rooms for private parties but I would try and just get space toward the back of the first floor sectioned off for you.
Klay Oven, excellent Indian, and you can request one of the private rooms that accommodates about 15-20 people.
More relaxed with a great menu, ask for one of the private rooms at Grand Lux Cafe downtown.
And also Gibsons has private rooms.
McCormick & Schmick's on E. Chestnut is great if you book the upstairs private room, 30-70 people.
