For Jazz, I recommend Jazz Showcase. It's been around since 1947, and also happens to be the closest Jazz club to you, unless you plan on heading south side.

For Blues, check to see if Buddy Guy's Legends has reopened. He closed it during the pandemic, and I'm unsure where they're at in the reopening process. There's a lot of "fun" blues clubs in Chicago, but Legends is where you'll get the biggest acts and the best technical expertise. Like Jazz Showcase, it's also super conveniently located for you. In fact, you could walk between Showcase and Legends, if you feel like barhopping.

Lastly, House of Blues has long time hosted a Gospel Brunch on Sundays. Depending on how your taste in blues swings, this might be up your alley.

Hey Good People, so two things.  I’m coming to town next Saturday, the 9th.  I’d love to duck into a local club and check out some great music - blues and rock and typically my faves.  Secondly, I’m staying at a very nice place near McCormick Center, would some wonderful lady care to tuck me in on Saturday or Sunday?  If music is your thing as well, perhaps we could combine the two.

best blues music at the KINGSTON MINES. Best Jazz at the GREEN MILL. Ladies, i don’t know the downtown scene

Just blues. I must have picked up the jazz detail from the other reply. Sorry about that!

In any event, it's great to know that there are others out there who appreciate the Showcase! The Green Mill is cool of course,  but for those who are *really* into the music, the Showcase is where it's at.

Miss Eve this is great!!  I’m leaning towards Buddy Guys (i checked the schedule) as I’d love to hear some Chicago Blues, the Kingston Mines (suggested above)n looks amazing as well.  Thanks so much!
