I just wanted to pass along an STD testing clinic recommendation in the event that anyone in the Chicago area is looking for a place to have their periodical SDT test or has an active STD.  This recommendation is based on a pleasant(OK, as pleasant as an STD clinic experience can be) that I recently had at the Howard Brown Health Center on North Sheridan in Chicago.  It is a walk-in clinic and it was  $95 for a syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia test and an HIV test is done for free.  The HIV test is the rapid one and you will have the results before you leave.  The testing is done confidentially and according to the nurse that talked to me they will treat active STDs on the spot in the event that you were having a discharge or some visible sign of an actual STD.    In this case they would not wait for the test results to come back.  Additionally, they have a Walgreens right off of the lobby of the clinic so if you need to have a prescription filled you do not even need to leave the building.  I might have hit this place at a good time but my wait to be called in was less than 15 minutes and I was out in just over an hour total, a good portion of which was just waiting for the HIV rapid results to come back.  They also have Hepatitis A & B vaccinations available for $35 and is a series of 3 shots, so you do have to go back for 2 additional shots approximately 1 and I believe 2 months later.  

I highly recommend this place based on my experience and the lower cost compared to stdtestexpress or similar testing clinic.  Also, they have bowls of condoms in the lobby or waiting area and you are free to grab as many as you like.
