I don’t think it sounds weird at all. I’m often described as “racially ambiguous” and depending on how my hair is styled that day (curly vs straight vs wavy), I am read very differently. However, I am a little over a 1/4 Native and an enrolled member of my tribe, but I’ve been mistaken for just about everything over the years.
It actually never fails. At least once a month someone will stop me and ask, “What are you?” And I’ll say, “Human.”
They’ll go, “No, but like… what are you?”
And I ask, “Do you mean my race and ethnicity?”
Then they nod in the affirmative.
From my recollection, Tryst and Eros allow you to filter based off ethnicity. That said, I’ll be in Chicago in a couple of weeks, and my website and socials gives a pretty accurate sense of how I show up if you’re curious. Either way, good luck with your search!
