22 year old girl from Dallas shot and killed in her hotel room at Whitehall yesterday at 3:30am.  No mention of anyone staying with her, job or why she was in town.  Family has no comment.  Be careful.

Per the suntimes, "Woman killed at Gold Coast hotel had been busted for prostitution.  Court records show she was arrested on a prostitution charge five days ago in Chicago. She was on the sidewalk soliciting men in cars and on foot at about 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 8 at 25 W. Hubbard, police said. She also was charged with prostitution in April in Harris County, Texas."
And she was staying at the Whitehall?!  That's not a Notel!  “You don’t expect something like this at a hoity-toity hotel off the Magnificent Mile.”  

This is why we take the screening part of this business so serious.  The dangers that are out there are real...."dead real"!  I love when a guy says " I am not a cop" !  I usually respond with "are you a serial rapist or killer or a guy that woke up this morning with an overwhelming urge to beat the piss out of a girl"?

This is not a joke.  It is as real as it gets.  This poor girl found out the hardest way, with her life!  Be careful out there n screen, screen, screen.  This guy might still be out there looking for another victim!

I am from Mn. & when I heard the news I just had to reach out you you all in Chicago & send my heart felt condolences & safe wishes.

This is the second killing of a member of our community in the past year in your fine city. I'm sure you are a bit on edge (to say the least)

Thankfully that cretin was found & charged, hopefully he was found guilty!! I hope the same outcome will happen to the cretin who committed  the recent heinous crime!!

The family probably doesn't want that info out there, so it's up to us to keep it as close to the vest as possible. It shows her the respect she deserves.

Very Dangerous!!  Some ladies think just b/c your hosting incall less screening is needed.  This is very sad.

I read that she was busted 5 days ago by LE because she was soliciting clients by going up to their cars, and approaching guys on the street in the early hours of the morning.

If this is indeed true, this young lady was VERY careless and used bad judgment. That being said, it's very sad what happened to her and by no means did she deserve this.

or not, she is DEAD and can't tell anyone who he is,  so even if he was screened to hell and beyond we would never know.  I do hope they find this ass quickly, no person deserves to be killed!  Screening just lessens the chances, it doesn't completely take them away.  

Ladies I am with him on buckling down further on screening.  It is an election year and to boot we do not know if this person is a cereal killer, so best to screen hard and make sure all are safe!!

I've, like most here, been balked at for having stringent screening. In this rather impulsive hobby, screening is a more than necessary evil and a provider's discretion is her/his first line of defense.

This makes me so sad. I've never met a provider yet who didn't seem like a kindred soul. Provider or customer, we have a gap in our lives of some sort that we help each other with. Christ, the world is a hard place. Reach out to your friends in the biz. Give 'em an e-hug or a real one. We all need one.

There's nothing funny about losing your life and this is beyond sad, but negligance played a role in this. This does not mean she deserved this, but carelessness will be your demise!!! If you set yourself to be preyed upon then you will be prey to monsters as is what happened in this case.

Whenever you point a finger, remember you have 3 more pointing back at you!!! If you don't know this girl, or exactly what happened-- be respectful and keep the snide comments to yourself. This girl, whatever her mistake or faults is someone's daughter, perhaps mother or sister-- and I'm sure friend.

Use the effort to say a prayer or think positive thoughts.

Perhaps we can reserve judgement until then? What if it was a pimp? A regular client? Someone that works at the hotel that took advantage of an opportunity? A lover?

Jumping to conclusions will get us no where, and it's best to see how it unfolds. Being safe yourself is the best way to react to this.

It's less likely, but could still happen!! We really have NO GUARANTEES what will happen. A lady was killed by a regular, several years ago. I'm sure the locals know who I mean. But that proves there are NO GUARANTEES! Obviously stuff like this makes me screen even harder. But your premise, while someone could easily believe that, actually isn't always true in the end. Yes hard screening makes it less likely, but we are still taking chances.

And Veronica is right, we don't really know if she screened him or not!! Perhaps she did and a bad one still got through. It happens, I've seen it before!!

other than she was a known prostitute. We don't know for a fact that she was entertaining a client at the time she was shot although it's a reasonable assumption. It's a sad state of affairs that someone so young lost her life and very likely as a result of being in this business.

It does seem clear that she increased her vulnerability by soliciting on the street and the implication is that she did little or no screening. I'm not sure how that becomes the media's fault for reporting what she was doing. She is a victim but people put themselves at risk all the time. Some take a lot more risk than others. Maybe they don't know any better or they're too lazy to lower their risk level or they are incapable of lowering their risk because of circumstances beyond their control. It seems likely that this girl had a pimp who was putting her at great risk. Or possibly, she was just young and naive. Most likely, it was a combination of both.

I was livid.  I think it was wrong for the moderators to keep the post up for a total of eight whole hours.  That kind of information makes me a walking target.  The provider who posted it wasn't even banned!  That was years ago though and I can forgive but I haven't forgotten...

Let's hope he's the guy and not just a previous john she'd seen.

Looks like the guy may have gone there to rob her. Many independents become targets because they have cash from working earlier. Why it is good to work with friends available to help.

was this in IL???? That is horrible when anyone does something like that to another person.  Too much violence.

Maybe he will get his karma and be raped in jail by brutus and bubba.

Working with friends is good for safety, but not pimps.  Pimps tend to take80%-100% of the girls money, and most pimps are violent aholes.
