My friend Angela Jones and I were just chatting about awesome summer drinks. She made the wonderful suggestion of throwing frozen berries in white wine and sipping on it. YUM!

What are some of your favorite summer time cocktails sure to make you take your clothes off? Ok...we don't really need cocktails to take our clothes off, but you know what I mean.

My fav as of late: Mojito

Recipes totally welcome!

Summer time kisses,

Veronica Sweets

Too many whiners complaining about water not having any flavor. Hell, that's what I like about it. No sugary sticky coating in your mouth after. Good water has no aftertaste, etc. Gatorade, etc. are overused even on the hottest days. If you're eating right, most times that stuff is redundant.

i love the taste of sweet nectar..i bet you have plenty..

That about covers it. No martinis in the summer, though. G&Ts with Old Raj and bitters are just about the perfect drink, especially for how hot it is today... think I know what I'm getting with my salad.

Great topic, Veronica!

I like fruity stuff, so I start with a blush champagne like a Rose' or a Zinfandel, add strawberry or raspberry sorbet, and top it with raspberries and blackberries. They're nice for girly parties.

For larger adult gatherings, I love mojitos and long island ice teas, depending on the menu.

Another favorite is Strawberry Banana cocktail smoothie.. Fresh strawberry's, banana, Haahen-dazs ice cream, ice and your favorite rum. Blend and enjoy. For those who are lactose intolerance may not enjoy tho.

1 small lime cut into 8-10 pieces, muddled at the bottom of the glass
1 Tsp granulated sugar (or more to taste, and should be muddled together with the lime BEFORE adding the cachaca or it won't dissolve)
3oz Cachaca or your favorite light rum
Serve over ice

You can also muddle fresh berries with the lime if you feel adventurous.

I fell in love with these on my trip to Venezuela a while back. Nothing better than laying out in the pool sipping on this delicious drink. Can't wait to do it again soon :)

Since I gave up alcohol, I prefer Perrier Water or San Peligrino on ice with lots of lime!

And I'm going to have to try a champagne float! I've never had one but I do love the bubbly! It's makes me all giddy and silly :)

Kisses,

Veronica Sweets

Had a lovely evening recently with a lovely lady that began with Aviators (a truly dangerous cocktail that disguises itself with summery flourish, then sneaks up behind to cold cock you, pleasantly) and ended with Limeade/Agua de Jamaica/Soda Water to restore me.

Get a nice bottle of something like a dry reisling or a tart sauvignon blanc, mixed in with fresh fruit. MMMM!

White sangria?  Both cocktails can be either too potent or too watered down.

Does Miss Vivi have any recipes for a great mojito. Of course I can always get it online but I know you are a perfectionist so I bet you have little tips to make even the best recipe better!
