you can literally "freeze your ass off" but from the looks of yours..we Chicago gents will definitely keep that from happening..

Weather service shows average lows 22 degrees F and average highs 32 degrees F.  Not all that bad.

if I didn't love the Chicago burbs so much I would totally head south for the winter.  We are so close to the lake that we get lake effect snow, and even if we get 20's or 30's there is that icy breeze(Chicago is not nick named the Windy City for nothing).  

So, in summery...  If you are planning to visit Chicago in Feb be very prepared for winter.  Pack long johns to go under jeans or slacks, thick tights for under skirts if you plan on going out as well as waterproof taller boots(you can spray leathers with that waterproof stuff).  Plan a hotel with a restaurant for either RS or dining should you not want to go out in the cold any given day.  Hope that the rough winter we have been told will happen will not appear...

Driving the expressway in a blizzard with wiper blades filling up with ice. It wasn't that bad though Sage, it only took 3 hours to get home, no, not bad at all, lol.

To the OP... the only worse month is January so why don't you come in December when it's all Christmassy? Oops, sorry to my Jewish friends, I mean all holidayisssshhh

It the big picture...its depressing all the slush makes it so dirty and ugly!  Forget wearing nice boots and walking into that crap, be prepared to lose one glove always.along with go your nice boots that have circles of salt that won't come off of suede or leather!!
People wrapped and freezing, bumping into you without any acknowledgment, they don't have time just want to go home where its warm!

Then who wants to drive in that if it's not necessary!
