I don’t require deposits for the large majority of my appointments. When I do, I get them through Amazon gift card about half the time.
The larger and more frequent one’s transactions are, the more notice they attract. So even if a provider required deposits for all appointments and took them all through cash app, accepting full payment through CA would double the number of transactions and sextuple the amount. Didn’t you start a thread a month ago on providers taking credit cards? Is cash that difficult for you? There’s a reason transactions of questionable legal status are conducted in cash.
I can only speak for myself and the handful of other providers that I know personally. I take Cashapp and Venmo. I've never had an issue with either one. I do generally prefer cash for the balance if in my home city. While on tour I have a slight preference for electronic transfer for the balance, but I do also accept cash. I hope this helps.
Nearly all of my dates are with long term repeat client friends. So, my particular paranoia skews more towards concerns around government surveillance, banking discrimination, etc instead of having a date flake on me. I generally only require deposits when I'm putting money down first to make the date: ie-when I'm traveling, or when I have to block off a day or more at home. For those, I accept Cashapp, among a few other options. However, I will sometimes require deposits in Chicago if the client has canceled on me, or I learn they've canceled on others. In that case, I only accept Amazon gift cards with proof they've been purchased in cash. This makes it impossible to reverse if the client bails on me.
I use CashApp for deposits on longer appointments but if I have seen the person before I will use Zelle because 9/10 they already know my real first name. I do not prefer pay pal there is just something about that service that irks me the wrong way. And when I am seeing my facial / body contouring clients I have a Venmo QRCode on a plaque they can scan it goes directly into my bank. But for the hobby for new friends its CashApp for deposits.
