END OF MESSAGE

I have a feeling this is going to open up a mess...

In our never compromising efforts for discretion, I really fucked up and would like to share so someone else doesn't have their head up their ass.

Raise your hand if you have an iPhone and iPad or even multiple of each...ok good. Now do yourself a favor and turn OFF iMessage. Your texts to your ATF also goes to your other devices if you have IMessage turned on. See where this is going? I had sent a text to my ATF, yet my IPad was left on my desk in not the best spot. Fortunately for me, I quickly discovered it is really hard to breathe when your head is up your ass, and covered my tracks (or at least I hope so).

Lesson learned...1. pre-paid phone. Yeah, have one, but used my "civvie" phone while out of town when I forgot my "playtime" phone.

2. Be very aware of your tech. Granted, if someone is really interested in your on-line/phone/text activity with enough effort it might be futile. But being aware of your tech trail goes a long way to the golden rule of discretion.

Any other suggestions....let's hear them so we can all stay safe and discrete

Your iPhone can be tracked on Google maps by anyone who has your iCloud password.

nor is iMessage. I don't know what the fascination is with saving our lives in the Cloud but it's a stupid idea in this biz. It's stupid to use any personal device that isn't operating inside a VPN network and particularly with Apple devices, you need to be very aware of all the networking and cloud services that are automatically turned on. Don't forget to turn off the GPS function either. Go through the Settings app and look at every item that can potentially locate your device including location services and make sure they're all off. Don't use the built-in mail app which is always on with your email password stored even when you turn it off. Use Safari to access web mail and make sure you're inside a VPN.

There are plenty of VPN apps for the iPad. A link to one of these is included.

They have a hobby phone that is locked in an office drawer, and only use it when they get the urge. Or, they have a totally different phone or PC, they use for only this business. Then again, you're right...lots of dumb asses.

I might also add that you guys DO NOT KEEP OUR EMAIL ADDRESSED OR OUR NAMES IN YOUR CONTACT LIST! When you allow your hobby email account to lay dormant or sign up on the wrong porn site, we get your hacked email bs sending us links.

Thanks

This post is incorrect.  I get emails from touring providers notifying me about their upcoming visits.  A couple of times per year, they forget to put their client list in the BCC section and instead use CC, thus revealing their client list to everyone.  Lots of guys use their personal or work email accounts to hobby.  From the emails I have received, I'd say that at least 20%-25% of clients use their personal accounts to hobby.  And if they use their personal accounts, they probably use their real phones too.  I also get a couple of emails per year from ladies whose email accounts have been hacked.  Lots of ladies keep client email addresses on file.  So I dunno where London is getting her info.

She states that most hobbyists use burner phones and don't email from their work computers. Even if your number of 25% of clients being stupid enough to use personal phones and work computers is correct, LR is still correct because 75% of clients don't by your own account. Last time I checked, 75% is definitely in the category of "most" so LR's post is correct, at least regarding the number of guys who do things right.

Her post implied that ladies are typically not at fault for these types of things happening. My post was intended to refute that IMO.

You're correct about the hacked emails, it happens on both sides and providers do keep our contact information as well. Let's be clear though that hacked or stolen emails are often the result of poorly chosen passwords. We've had the password discussion many times, no need to rehash it again.

Then, I guess I should have said "smart hobbyists" don't use their personal devices. Most guys I see have a separate computer or Ipad they ONLY use for the hobby, and for messing around, and it's not in their house so the wife can put spy ware on it.

I have never used a mailing list, never sent out a "Hey I am coming to town" spam notification...nothing of the sort, but I have been inundated with bs mail from guys who can't clear out a damn contact list!

I did not say it was "all" the fault of the guys, but please...most are clueless about how to protect their own information, and then want to bitch about having to give it to a provider. How many threads have we seen by MEN, that go like this...

"Man, I got drunk and left my computer up, and the wife found my hobby email." "I was sleeping and some provider sent me a text at 3 am." Um, why the hell did she have the number to your phone right by your bed lol.

I never said a throw away phone was to be used "for screening" lol. A guy is screened long before he makes the call the day of, and his fake phone or fake email, are not exactly how I go about screening, though I will see if they connect back to any sinister activity on the web.

So while a few hobbyists have no problem giving out their number for SCREENING ONLY, it should be understood that no one is to call or text that phone at random. His hobby phone should be the one used for "contact" purposes. I am simply amazed at how many guys will give out a real number, then get pissed when some nut job provider calls them lol.

iMessage is a lot safer than SMS texts, that's for sure.  Apple has stated "For example, conversations which take place over iMessage and FaceTime are protected by end-to-end encryption so no one but the sender and receiver can see or read them. Apple cannot decrypt that data. Similarly, we do not store data related to customers’ location, Map searches or Siri requests in any identifiable form."  See Apple's web site.

Now, I agree that you have to disable iMessage on all other devices, otherwise, you kids playing with your iPad will see that iMessage from your ATF, offering a duo with her new BFF!

off subject, I feel so grateful for the technology that has been developed so well, for the past few years. My favorite part is that no need to explain directions, even to the half-drunk foreign newly employed cab drivers :-) To reply about the technological mess described above, yes, protect your privacy as much as you can. Goodnight Chicago,

luv

by the way .. these so called "half-drunk foreign newly employed cab drivers" are working in IT and helping with building this technology that you seem to love. Not to mention their love for escorts. Life is beautiful !
