Check out Moody Tongue. It's not really new and a bit out of the downtown area but a creative menu of food and drinks.

Unless you have a valid up to date Vaccination card you cannot dine in at any restaurant in Chicago and surrounding areas in Cook county. Same goes for gyms and movie venues.

You can still get food to go at any restaurant in Chicago and surrounding areas of Cook county without a Vaccination card.

Outside in other counties like Dupage and Lake county you can dine in without showing a Vaccination card.

Why bother with the Chicago?  It's a place to come for your job and hightail it out of there at 5:00 PM.  There are plenty of places in rational-minded suburbs: Crystal Lake, Highland Park, Orland Park, Naperville, etc.  They all have restaurants as good as Chicago's, with none of the crime and the "papers, please!"

The only reason I come to Chicago is for my job and to hobby.  The CTA and the masses of crowds downtown make it very easy to hide in plain sight as I do the deed.   Otherwise, I have no interest in spending more time there than I have to.
