Try approaching her as a normal joe schmoe... you might get something for free....

If that fails, then and only then after all of the gentlemanly ways have been exhausted do you tell her you're a hobbyist too and would love to 'work out' with her in that sense if she is so inclined.

She may bite, she may not.. either way, it will side-step the "HOLY SHIT I KNOW YOU FROM XXXXX PLACE!!!!" if you just book an appointment  ;)

the girl you have your eye on ends up going to the same gym as you and turns out to be very personable and cool to talk to?

I know providers are real people too. I know that. However I don't look at every girl out there as a provider, so it was a surprise to: a- see her come into my gym, b - have her talk to me as we excercised, c - be so cool.

I imagine i will take her off my to-do list and enjoy her company at the gym

If you are single and have hopes of starting a "civvie" relationship with her, you might be ok if it does NOT develop into anything serious. If it does, you will eventually have to tell her that you know about her work. That could blow it right there. (No pun intended.)

You would have to handle the disclosure very carefully. Perhaps you and I should both yield to advice from some of the more experienced ladies on the board. I'm sure you will get good advice, better than I could give.

...admit you saw her ad!  She'll think you're a creep, and creepy, and possibly be horribly embarrassed.  If things develop, they develop, and eventually you'll find out each other's secrets.  But until then.  Forget you have any idea what she might do for cash.

Of the individual who contacted me last summer after seeing me at the farmers' market. No real name, no screening information or any other indication as to who he was or how he knew me, just an email telling me how beautiful I was in person. Turns out he had noticed me at some local M&G prior but never introduced himself. I think this one goes into the books under the wrong ways to flatter a lady!

Oh, I didn't mean that he should walk up to her like he knew her but not say from where.  Definitely that's creepy.  Although when one works in public with lots of people, we get sort of used to dealing with that, right?  People come up to me and start chatting all the time and I am desperately trying to figure out where they know me from so I can respond appropriately.  Mostly I just smile and nod and hope a clue comes out of their mouth soon.  Sometimes -- and this is the most hilarious -- I realize that the other person is in the same boat.  Neither of us really have a clue how we know each other, but are just trying to be polite.  But young women are the toughest.  I remember everyone I've hired, of course, but I know more working women than that and lots of people know me (especially in Europe), so some woman will say hi to me and I am thinking 'Uh, OK, is this a medical student or a hooker...?'  In Europe the English skills usually give it away fast.  But not always.  There was this one girl and I was convinced she was a researcher, and I'm like 'So how're things, blah blah',  And she's like 'It's been good, actually, really busy.'  And I can't even remember what her project might be, so I'm like 'Well, busy is always good...' And she's like 'Yea I guess so but I need some sleep' and I'm like 'Oh well the holidays are coming up' and she's 'No the holidays are always really busy!  By the time it's Christmas I can barely walk!'.  And I'm like...  Uh... OK.

Anyway, I meant to say to the OP that he should treat her as if he had never seen her ad at all.  In other words, just treat her like any other person he might meet in the gym and want to meet. Her job is irrelevant and the fact that he's a John is a turn off.

I met my wife (who was a provider that exact same way).  Just pretend like you know nothing about what she does and move forward like a normal woman you would ask out on a date.  It's really pretty simple.

Push her off the treadmill and hand her a protein shake and get a freebie for being such a nice dude!

Bad news, she might break something on the fall and blame you for the shove:(

It's a 50/50 depending on her pain threshold ...
