You took the message out of my hands.  I also fall in the "not so rich" category, but can afford to go maybe as high as $220 at the present time, and would greatly appreciate hearing from anybody who would be willing to provide an hour of adventure for that.  It seems as if most of the providers in the Chicago area charge a minimum of $300, often advertised as non-negotiable.  Some, I've heard, will offer a price break to repeat customers.  I have been looking for some ideas on why this hobby is so expensive.  It still is probably easier to work with independents than with agencies.

Hey, I would say that Barbara on the north side is going to be your best option. Check out her reviews and go from there.

Mandy is having a $150 special this week in Arlington Heights. I was with her about a year or so ago and she is very nice and bargain at the price. Check the reviews.

The price is high here probably because of supply and demand

Plus it is worth it.

Your best best is to either go for the half-hour for what you have and don't expect multiples, or you can wait for specials that range in that area for the full hour.

The only good providers I can recommend are Desiree of www.desireeskitti.com, or Kelly Shannon of www.kellyshannon.com.  Both of them are reputable and charge somewhere between $150-$225 per hour depending on current availability and specials.

Sorry to tell you, but you may have to save a few more dollars if you aren't successful in your search.
