I've been hobbying a while in a few different cities. I was trying to set something special up for this week with a provider who does everything, and is attractive. I got her donation and it was an ungodly amount for 12 hours. I could get a better looking girl from Prague or Budapest that is better looking, does more, for 24 hours, for half the cost including the plane ticket.

Am I crazy? Or should I shut up and pay $400+ an hour and not get a discount for trying to book 12+ hours (400 x 12 = $3000...c'mon man).

Like for example, a 12 hour as you did, or an overnight, I would do it with a provider I already saw before. That way, you know exactly what you're going to get.

Sure, I've been disappointed with a few I've seen before, but those were only 1-2 hour sessions. I can't imagine dropping X amount of dollars for a 12 hour session, and not being happy with it. That's just way too much cash flow to spend, and have buyer's remorse.

And to answer your question, No, I think Chicago is a good city to hobby in. I say this as a positive suggestion, but maybe you need to do a better job evaluating providers before you book with them? Especially if you're considering a long session as you did.

Good comment, you're right. I was trying to book with a very popular provider on here who I have seen before. Loved the session, she is gorgeous, and great. After I explained why I wanted a long session I got bombed with a huge amount and then instructions on how to make a down payment. Then sent a link to "request" an appointment. Made me feel like just a transaction.

You're right though, why do I need 12 hours? Just do 12 one hour sessions!

I'm sorry, but I would NEVER put down a down payment, or advise anyone to ever do it. It's unfortunate you had a not so pleasant time, hopefully your next session is worth the visit.

I'm by no means against long 12 hour sessions, but IMO, those are the ones that NEED to be chosen wisely, for obvious reasons.

If you were going to do an extended session, or overnight, with someone you've seen before and trust, then a deposit isn't a problem.  She is going to turn down all other offers for that evening, and reserve it for you.  If you back out, she's out of luck.  So a deposit to hold the time only for you is certainly justified, and that's exactly what I've done.  Nothing unusual or unreasonable about it.

Now if you don't trust the woman that you want to spend extra time with enough to give her a deposit, then you are seeing the wrong person.

But the same can be said from the hobbyist's perspective. If the provider has seen me before and we have a mutual trust for one another, she shouldn't have to ask me for a down payment.

I have a guest who comes out to visit once a year and does an overnight.  Have known him for like 8years now and he prepays the entire amount in advance because he doesn't like carrying that much $$ on him.  I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to either so the system works.

Either way...  

this isn't about me but I can understand if this is a gent she only visited 1x before wanting to take up 12hours of her time how she might want a deposit.  If it was someone she was really familiar with and knew he would not blow her off then perhaps things would be different.  

In a way it makes it easier for him, he can just put some # on a reload card and doesn't have to carry all that cash to the meeting.  On the other hand, there are providers who feel justified keeping that deposit if you cancel with less then a certain amount of notice.  If you are serious about visiting her then make sure of what her policies are in a written format so it can't be altered after the fact saying something else was meant.

That figure is alot less than 4800 which is what the rate would be if she charged you to sleep I think it
would be wrong . Chicago is great place however people do cancel and if she asked you to secure a
deposit, it means she is just as serious as you are in meeting so that she can set her own schedule
and not accept any appointments while planning to be with you .

Each city has varied cost of living so each person sets her rates according to her needs and her daily
revenue so you won't find the same overnight rate from one city to another. I can't see comparing
rate in another country to the rates in various states but 3000 is about much  right some 2500 but not
much less. Good luck in your searches. From the looks of the numbers she gave you it appears that
an $1800.00 discount was givin as (400 x 12 = $4800)

Move on.
It sounds like you've already made up your mind that your expectations have already been deflated.
As far as the down payment issues. Providers flake out just as much as clients.

around the globe you will be spoiled. In Europe, you get great rates, especially in countries like Poland and Germany. Thailand and China are much cheaper. The service quality is just as good and many times better when compared to the the US. In Asia they have a service mentality and you will notice that even on an Asian airline.

In fact whenever, I come back from Europe and I get a sticker shock in the US, which takes some time to get over
