Forgive me if this topic is unoriginal, but my favorite movie filmed in Chicago is "my bodyguard" (1980). I love the plot, the soundtrack, and the scenes of the city are great.
What is your favorite movie filmed in Chicago? Merry Christmas!

The Mayor put Chicago on the map nationally working with the Illinois Film Office and I think she started the Chicago Film Office., pre Oprah, Michale Jordan, and the Internet. Risky Business, Red Heat, Child's Play and list goes on.
But honorable mentions go to Stir of Echoes and A League of Their Own.

Bullet (especially the scene where the Mustang is driven off of Marina Towers into the Chicago River). The Untouchables When Harry Met Sally Hitchcock's North by Northwest Risky Business Plus those listed above
Thanks for correcting me. Of course, it was "The Hunter." I also see that the "French Connection" was filmed in Chicago. Always thought it was filmed in New York. If you watch North by Northwest, you will see the old Ambassador East hotel
Under-rated film oozes the reality of life in the City as a teen in the 1970s. A young Adan Baldwin, Matt Dillion and a very young Joan Cusack. Blues Brothers is fun but has no Chicago reality. Ferris Buehler a decent reading of the North Shore (I think, I live there now but grew up in the city). Of course, I aint no movie critic.
