Booking Hotels During the Daysad_smile

Dear All
This is my first starter thread so please no flames. I find this board really useful. Entertaining even.

Please note before I start: I am not looking for cheap hotel rooms or achieving a discount for a 'day rate'. That's not the point of this question. I see this confusion a lot.

A provider I know is coming to town and I offered to get a hotel room for our appointment. Great so far. I don't want a dump - I want something nice. The appointment is at 12pm for 3 hours. Here's the issue. I can book to check in the day before but the check out is at 11am. I can maybe get a late check out but the hotels I spoke to will not guarantee it. I can try and check in early on the day of the appointment but again it's not guaranteed.

I searched for 'day rate',  'day use' hotels. There are a few options such as the Hilton at O'Hare (which is crappy but more or less okay) and one other hotel downtown that looked really quite marginal. Surely there has to be other options that avoid me having to drive downtown, check in, drive home, drive back the day of, check out late and incur two days' fee. Am I missing something? Please don't reply 'Ask the provider'. I realize that's an obvious point.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Otherwise, yes, to guarantee you usually have to get two nights. On those occasions, bidding on priceline works well.

I know some hotels will provide you a guaranteed early check-in as an added cost... sign up for their rewards programs. If you go to a large enough hotel you can probably check in early without any hassle. I have never had a problem with early check-in. I will PM you with names of hotels at which you may be able to pull this off.

at all of their locations thought the Downers grove one is not as nice.  Then let her get her own room from there.  Personally never let a lady stay in your room after you leave because all kinds of incidentals can be charged to your room as well as extending the stay added days.

Does Sybaris still require both people to check in, or are you now able to sneak her in?  I haven't been there in years.  Maybe the policy has changed.

while the one that got the room checks in.  I think it is the other option, the Ambiance suites that requires you to check in together

with my then girlfriend many years ago.  The Downer's Grove Sybaris used to be a nice place. What happened?

By the way,  I was at a private incall in the NW burbs recently, and it was immaculately clean and very comfortable, not to mention the person I was with!  What an awesome afternoon.  I think that is the way to go!  Forget the soak and pokes.

I have used Ambiance many times, and I've never had to have the other person with me at check-in.
Great place, and you have your choice of Hot Tub, Whirlpools etc.

When I went to the Sybaris with my Provider she stayed in the car while I checked in. No need to sneak around.

Sybaris is Awesome. Just took my ATF there on my Birthday. Awesome time.

Hotwire, They are cheap, available most times, but you won't know the specific hotel name until you book. Works well in Oak brook, Schaumburg and O'Hare.

When I worked out of hotels I would book with boutique hotels and they often will let you check in as early as 10am if they aren't busy!

12pm should be no problem. I loved Felix and The Acme

I really appreciate the suggestions. I think I might try the option of ringing around in the morning to see who would do early check in. Also the Sybaris is a new one to me. I'd done a fair bit of research and never heard of it. Sometimes just a small change in search terms can yield quite different results. 'Chicago hourly fuck pad' actually comes up with a Thai restaurant for the budget conscious diner. Lol! I'm not joking.

By the way, during my research process I came across the Liberty Inn in Manhattan. This place is awesome - basically it's an hourly love hotel. According to the reviews on Yelp there's often a line outside of people, couples, waiting for a room to free up all wearing shades and staring at the floor. I can imagine all the people there looking quite sheepish. Someone should open one of these in downtown Chicago.

You have to buy a Yearly Membership to get a Room. I think mine is about 50 dollars a year.

Good tip. Thanks
