Women over 40

This is a tribute from the late Andy Rooney, and he makes a pretty good argument:-)

As I grow in age, I value women who are over forty most of all. Here are just a few reasons why: A woman over forty will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, “What are you thinking?” She doesn’t care what you think.

If a woman over forty doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it’s usually something more interesting.

A woman over forty knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of forty give a hoot what you might think about her or what she’s doing.

Women over forty are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won’t hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it’s like to be unappreciated.

A woman over forty has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn’t trust the guy with other women. Women over forty couldn’t care less if you’re attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won’t betray her.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over forty. They always know.

A woman over forty looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over forty is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They’ll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one! You don’t ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over forty for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it’s not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of forty-plus, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some twenty-two-year-old waitress.

Though it is very much a fact that there are few things better than a woman who has ages with grace,

much of your post does also describe a young woman, such as myself, with self-assurance, and a bit of an old soul. Gravitas generally comes with years, but can also come with education.

and I look killer in red lipstick. Even if I was born in the 90s ;)

With the good ones, you can be yourself, and she can too. She knows what she wants and will let you know in a kind and easy way.

Cheers to mature women especially 40+ .... I just wish younger ladies who are the exception to many stereotypes placed on youth weren't often knocked in the same "breath".

I'm in my 20's but I guess i'm an old(er) soul because most of the qualities that I read women over 40 have well I also share :).

Did I mention I look fantastic in bright(er) red lipstick? :-D

Besides have you seen the negative posts made about the more mature ladies on the GDB and others?

I don't think I've ever read a post that slams ladies in their 20-early 30. Did I miss them, lol? ;-)

xoxo,

Steph

Women over 40 are Great. No Drama and they know what a Man likes and know how to treat him well. I'm driving to Charlotte to see an ATF that used to work here in Chicago. She's retired from the Business. Sorry I can't give out her info.

I didn't intend for my initial reply to be taken too deeply either though.
But....yeah Steph these two eyes have plenty of posts/threads that have mad negative comments about younger providers. But it's sort of often a mix of giving mature providers their very much due props with some bits thrown in giving praise at the expense of/something negative about younger providers. Reason for why quite a while I just lurked on the Over 60 board and didn't participate. It felt very 'under 30' unfriendly for a while.  If you haven't seen any comments at all slamming younger providers I'm not sure how you missed them but you definitely have.

I haven't looked at the GD board that much really in about 1 year because it's because almost complete trash (98% being nice lol) but I did notice where pretty much anyone and everyone got slammed on a regular basis....including mature providers unfortunately. I do see slams on mature providers every now and then in comments (usually by a stupid alias) on different boards here too though sure. I guess I've just never seen a thread/OP written where it didn't just leave mentions or rather versus-type differentiations of younger providers out of it.

If any every takes Andy Rooney seriously . . .

Yes, the young ladies have their niche and are beautiful.

As for me, ladies are like fine wine and are better with age.  A dinner followed by private time tends to be truly enjoyable with a beautiful, mature, intelligent lady.

Absolutely LOVE the name "Sweet Melissa!"  As the Allman Brothers sang:

"Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah.
The gypsy flies from coast to coast

Knowing many, loving none,
Bearing sorrow havin' fun,
But back home he'll always run
To sweet Melissa... mmm..."

Can be mature. On the other hand immaturity isn't just the province of the young. It's not the chronological age but the mental age that impresses me most. I just try to have fun and if I don't feel comfortable with them then I don't see them again.
