As this board is a little quiet, here's and idea for discussion: What possibly weird or unexpected event has happened on a meeting that turned out just fine?
For me it all began with the decision to meet a lady at a fine restaurant for our first meeting. I made reservations for us and even shared where I would be sitting - outside - when she arrived. Upon her arrival I was stunned by her beauty and poise, and knew this was going to be an exciting evening. We were seated at a small table and began to have a great conversation. Then our server arrived. "Mr. Smith! How are you? It is great to see you, bla-bla-bla!" Being well known has its disadvantages, and this particular college student was active during his high school years in a group that I oversaw. Recovering quickly, I called him by name and introduced him to "my niece." She graciously spoke to him, shook is hand and fell right into the conversation. She later added that she was in "sales," and that we just happened to be in the same city that night. Our server came back to our table to talk several times, and the lady was more than gracious to him. I crossed paths with the server a couple of months later, and he replied how cool my niece was that night. I agreed, saying that she was always that way and great with sales. As for the lady, she was far beyond a great conversationalist - an now an expert at dodging "bullets."I had a super good friend/client come over for an afternoon visit. We were hanging out on the bed teasing each other when there was a knock on the door. I assumed it was UPS so I just ignored it. Well...the knocking wasn't stopping so I went to the door and looked out. It wasn't good fam....It wasn't good. I ran back to the bedroom and yelled as quietly as I could," THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT IS OUT THERE!!!!!" I got dressed as quick as I could and opened the front door. The officer standing there was having issues finding an address. He assumed my place had to be it due to it's secluded location. After giving him the 411, he returned to his vehicle and drove on down the road. I shut the door and returned to my friend who clearly lost an easy two years off his life. It took us both a while to recover from that one.

Calls from wives and girlfriends
I had a rehabber come over unannounced who needed help with a squirrel. I was nude and in the middle of a professional photo shoot at the time. I opened the door just far enough to take the fuzz ball from her. She was rubber necking like mad trying to see what was going on inside. Everyone had to take 5 while I hooked up her squirrel.
