I was reading a comment on the GD board that spoke of a waitress saying she was an 'actress', noting she should just do the job she's there for. It was generally speaking of all providers, expressing the job we have… to serve… "Don't say you're … (this or that) … just do what you're here to do." (I'm paraphrasing to the max here.)

Who wants to just fuck a hole? Did that once or twice, I left feeling weird and almost dirty. If I just wanted to bust a nut I would just rub one out myself.  
Personally I grade personality as much as looks. Some jaded guy may say "ya can't fuck personality" true but ya sure as hell can't talk to looks alone. I don't look so much to connect on an emotional level with every lady I've met, but try and gauge her personality from a couple emails to make sure she's got a sense of humor and can communicate like an intelligent person. I try and make it fun for her to, 99% of the time you will be rewarded for good manners, being a caring guy, and of course trying to make sure she gets hers too :0)
Depends on how much info she shares as to trying to encourage her or whatever, I hope when I leave the lady will remember me fondly and won't feel used or whatever.  
And then there's times when you really do connect, I've been privy to some very personal info from a couple ladies. When the trust level is that high it's obvious the connection is mutual. Those ladies I will try and help out or lend a ear to if they need a friend or a kind word when life gets them down a bit. Not looking for extras or anything just being a decent person, some ladies need that. Can't exactly talk to many folks about the way this biz can grind on ya.
So for me I like the gfe but I try and provide a bit of BFE too. If its all about me it's boring.

See, that makes sense. Just like dealing with any person, you have to feel 'em out… and we're not here to be mechanical or all business, here to do what you said above. And, of course, I'm not talking about dumping problems on them, I'm more talking about discussion of our lives outside the profession. Makes us a tad more interesting, and more three dimensional to the client. Right?

Luckily for me, several "therapists" have good ears, and also open up, so its just not a one way street.  

I have not had bad time with any provider I have see. I behave like a gentleman, talk to them, listen to them  and in most cases we become friends.

One of the best things about TER is that hobbyists are encouraged to be verbose in their reviews and everybody is encouraged to play nice but speak their mind on the board. The net result is that everybody who is so inclined can form some impressions about a person they are contemplating spending some time with. This includes physical characteristics, preferences and prohibitions, routines , etc. So the potential is there for everybody to find what they are looking for and identify what they are looking to avoid. If a guy wants anything BUT a girlfriend experience, he can find that. If a guy wants a great listener, a football fan, an oenophile, a gourmet cook, a dog-lover, a biker chick, a goalie who can make it through the entire game, a short Mediterranean vacation, someone who reminds him of his high school sweetheart, his English teacher, etc., with a little effort he can find that person. If a gal is hoping to avoid socializing with guys who  use only "natural" hygiene products or who are a bit too free with dispensing a 'friendly slap on the ass', there are ways to figure that out.  

You hit the ail on the head with your reference to "human relations" before the act.  By far it makes it all better than a quickie.  And after the act is also a time for pillow talk that builds for the next time.

Well, not to toot my own horn, but my other 40+ reviews as Krystin all said I was the best GFE some of the biggest reviewers have ever met. I have reviews now that say it, and if you Google me, you will find on other boards saying the same thing.

So you customize the service (sorry experience) you provide to fit their desires? Dell does the same thing. They customize computers to fit the customers needs/desires. Meaning, it's a business tactic to customize the needs of a customer to 1. Make a profit, 2. Keep them as a customer.
