Ok, just need to vent. During the past two weeks I've attempted to set up an appointment with two different, but well reviewed and established independents. Both instructed to send emails with reference information (which I did), then follow up with a phone call. When I called, it went immediately to voice mail, but I couldn't leave a message because it was full. So, I sent a follow up email. No response from either. I then sent a text message to the second appointment attempt and actually got a response. Two providers working together evidently, and only one phone, so she texted me back and asked which one I wanted to see. In this case it was the lady that did not answer the text. I gave her the specific day and time, and she replied that she would check with the other lady and confirm. After not receiving any further communication, I sent a second text asking if she was able to contact her friend and confirm. Nothing, nada! I followed their website instructions to the letter. I'm finding this hobby quite frustrating at times!

Sometimes we all run into that. You dont mention how much time has gone by. Sometimes the ladies have 'other things' happening in thier lives. And some just have a bad business model. It does sound like you pushed about as far as you should. I would cast my line off the other side of the boat. There are a lot of fish in this lake that would be more than happy to see you. But venting is good.
Actually, an email was sent on Saturday requesting a Tuesday morning appointment. I followed up with a phone call first thing Monday morning and found the VM full, so I texted (around 9:00 am). Got an immediate response, and when I told her I wanted to see her freind, she said she would check with her and get back to me. Around 6 pm I texted again because I had not heard anything from her. No response at all.
I really try to give plenty of time, especially if I have never seen the lady before so she has time to check me out. Now it's Tuesday morning and I have no appointment. I would like, at a minimum, to get a response of some kind. Even if it's a "hell no I won't see you", so I have time to move on and try to connect with someone else.
that what you are experiencing is a common trend lately. I too have had more cancellations and more importantly just plain poor communication as of late. Not responding to emails after providing info, setting dates and cancelling, etc, etc. So I say F$%$ 'em and move on. There are a few quality providers left.
This is one reason why I have cut back dramatically and am seriously contemplating retiring for good. It is not worth the hassle, time and money.
I have set up appointments via the phone and when I arrive at the in-call they don't answer the phone. Some providers throw a fit when they get stood up but don't hesitate when they change their mind or overbook.
but that was a while back when I dealt with lower quality providers. It probably isnt really fair to say 'lower quality', but there is a invisable line out there that I cant put my finger on. Maybe it is that they dont take it that seriously and on a whim just blow everything off.
I have since learnt to look for what I call 'high quality" or should I say serious ladies that have a sense of honor and pride in thierself. Pretty much a guarentee as long as the creek dont rise and hell freezes over. I usually look for a good website, and good reviews that seem overall consistent. Yeah they might charge a buck more but if they say they will be there, they will.
Check out the ladies that post to the TER boards. I havent heard one bad word about them talking to my Hobby buds.Oh it may be harder to get a date set up cause they have a schedule to follow but with a little be of pperseverance it can be done. Just my humble opinion.
are not always reliable. I think like you said that consistent reviews are one key. All I keep hearing is how slow things are. For those that do not provide quality and customer service then it's going to get slower.
I've always felt that your business ethic is a direct reflection of you. The way you communicate or the lack of communication and consideration speaks volumes. There are many of us ladies out here that take what we do seriously. From day one my mantra has been that all I have in this community is my reputation, dependability and consistency. And I pride myself on treating others the way I want to be treated. We all know that things come up. That's life and that Murphy guy. But a phone call/email/text goes a long way. And in this day and age of technology there are no excuses. I am truly sorry that this has happened to you and say that this is definitely not the way the majority of us ladies handle ourselves and our clientele. We love you guys and want you cummin' back for more.
