Interesting - we have not met so I don't know your age, but the vaccine is not licensed for use in adults over 26 years of age in the US, so most of us would not qualify.  I am not sure about how the vaccine is used in other countries but I do know the CDC says research has shown it is not effective in preventing HPV-related cancers in those over 26.  Presumably this is because all of us have been exposed to HPV by the time we turn 26 and the vaccine is not effective in those already exposed.

Wow I did not know that!! I did get it  a few years ago, so that mustve not applied for me...... I also think if you are in the medical it is mandatory, and Im sure some ladies are older, so Im not sure how that works..

Well there are some ladies that are still young so they still should take advantage of getting this before its age restricted... Get it now, it's soo worth it...

I see the benefits of the shot and have worked in the medical field since graduating college in biology. I was told that if you have been exposed, or sexually active (which most adults have been) that the vaccine is of no benefit and the only vaccine that I know was required of us to work in the lab was the Hepatitis B (HBV) series which is 3 shots...This is so new that I haven't seen any long term studies on adverse reactions now or in the future..but if it helps some then they should weigh their pros/cons and go with what works for them.

I am confused.. I initially wrote HBV but then I saw the post regarding HPV.. So yea I was referring to the HBV shot, not the HPV..

Oh, Kudos to you for Biology.. Phew thats hard stuff!!
