Anyone know any areas that are somewhat dog friendly? As in, hotels/motels that take large dogs, and any beach areas that allow dogs off leash, or just a nice secluded area where no one will bitch about it?

    I live on Sullivan's Island, and dogs are allowed off leash in the AM hours.  There are always lots of friendly dogs running around, but you do need a permit.  I think it costs 25 bucks, but well worth it...

Near Charleston, just over the bridge near Mt. Pleasant.  Very nice, wide, clean beaches!!!

Head for the outer Banks...I rent a house oceanfront down near Avon..has a hot tub on the deck and its own heated pool...the beaches have far fewer people during the off season and I take our 3 dobes...they run the beaches along the surf and have a great time. The house is very dog friendly!

Dito on the outer banks.  This time of year are some real bargains.  Very little nite life so you will want to bring your fun.........
