I've had a few guys bail out on wanting to meet me because I require an ID be shown when meeting. Even with great references.
I want to tell you a story. This happened to a friend of mine awhile back. Actually the same lady that got me started with all of this in the first place. Her life is still in ruins over it.
A gentlemen filled out her booking form. Even used his real name, great references, had written about 30 or so reviews, whitelisted by a few well known providers. On both major screening sites. Seemed like the easiest screening ever for my fellow provider. He had no criminal history except speeding tickets. Not blacklisted anywhere, etc...
So she accepted the appointment and met him the next day. Since he had been screened so well and had great references, she didn't even think to ask for an ID. Next thing she knew, she was in handcuffs, and being taken to jail. Her laptop, cell phone, protection, 1,200 in cash all taken as evidence.
BUT WAIT, he had great references, wrote all those reviews... How the hell could this be happening... Turns out, the ACTUAL hobbyist was busted seeing one of the unreviewed cut rate other site girls. They took his hobby phone, which was a cheap smartphone, and had access to his emails. The police used his hobbyist information to book with this very well known provider to bust her.
Screening means nothing until the ID is actually shown at the beginning of the meeting. Girls that don't require real names and identification are simply asking for it.
Just wanted to share that info. It was in good old North Carolina.

Thanks bunches.
Some places LE are more dubious than others. So it would be good to know.
Course I have told the newbies that I have seen that they MUST do this---NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
While this is a sad occurrence, and I am very sorry that your friend had to go through this. And, it exemplifies why we ALL need to be very cautious on both sides of the fence...
1) It seems to me that this scenario could just as easily go the other way. In other words, the unsuspecting guy could contact an escort whose phone and or computer had been confiscated, with the same result. If I call your phone and speak to "a cop" who I think is you and arrange a date, and subsequently show at the pre-arranged place and time, I am busted. The only ID check will be to see what name to put on the arrest record.
2) While I am no lawyer, it would also seem to me that by the time you got close enough to ask for ID, you would already be busted, in the above scenario. The 'intent' would already be established through said email or phone conversations arranging a meeting, and the undercover person's arrival would simply be to execute an arrest. No actual contact is required, so by the time you ask to see ID, it's already too late. It's essentially the same as the famous "LE Check" that everyone talks about - total fantasy BS.
Again, I don't disagree with you or anyone doing what you feel is necessary to protect yourself, but it is important that we all understand that screening is a combination of many things, not any one failsafe. Requiring someone's name so that you can screen properly is entirely your right, but I don't think that ID check will help anyone. Maybe I'm wrong in my legal assessment, but I don't think so. Just sayin'
In the old state I lived in one town all it took was the girl to show up for an outcall and they busted her.
I've seen on tv, stings where the cops denied being cops when asked.
Actually being convicted is probably another thing entirely.
Intent is enough - that is why you discuss nothing prior to meeting. If nothing is discussed, you are simply providing a legal escort service.

Scary! How long ago was this?
Steph
Thanks for posting. That IS crazy and really something to think about!!!!
a Florida escort got nabbed a few months ago and although the fella she was seeing was on P411 and had all that your example did the id wouldnt have helped. LEO used him to trap her, in this case there is no way out.
Correct, but any good trial attorney should be able to resolve this. Notice I said "trial" attorney.
I am fine with showing my id. it make lady at ease an date more layback. by the when are u coming back to clt?
I dunno. Every time I go to Charlotte I lose out.
But let me tell you another story.
A well known businessman gave his info to a provider. Of course they say they delete personal information, but you know that is BS. Anyway, provider gets arrested and all herjohns are outed publically. Guy made front page news, had to sell his business, and later committed suicide. He was ruined.
Another story. Man sees provider who has a husband. Husband is ok with providing until they divorce two years later and wants to use it against her. Man is called on by attorneys to his business demanding he give a deposition or he will be outed.
Do what you feel to be safe, oldted will do what makes him feel safe. I will not give my real name to anyone in the hobby except for the occasional weak moments when the provider asks me in the throws of passion.
P.S. - It would be good to make clear on you alls websites that you do ask for ID. A lot of providers do not require it so don't be surprised when men are surprised that you ask because they are not informed. When that happens I usually just give the donation and walk away just to not cause commotion, but a lot of guys will feel they don't have to.

True, it can go bad on both sides.
That's why providers should be educated on how to store client information. Overseas hosted databases in countries that do not respond to U.S. subpoenas are a good way to start. It is costly, but very well worth it.
That's how I store the minimal information I do keep after initial screening
Anyone who says do what makes you feel the safest and most comfortable.
Everyone who has said that..................
I Concur with them
Shifterp OUT!
Most of the time providers are fine with my work ID which has a picture. When I don’t have work ID with me, I have shown DL as well.
Some people are nervous ninnies that think, everyone is watching them. Front Desk clerks of hotel watching them, people want to park across the street and sneak in, etc., is just nonsense.
No one is that interested in you or me. I am not a legend of any kind, have not broken the law, I dress like normal people and clean cut like millions of professional people out there so, why the hell someone would watch me
I assuming everyone has their own lives to live, stress to deal with.
I completely agree with your advise. LE can create or all kinds of deviant methods for entrapment.
Just setting up an appointment is enough for intent and will get you busted. It really depends on which state you are in, and if you get a lawyer or not and things like that. I could go on and on. Point is we all need to be very careful, because there really is no foolproof way to avoid the cops. Even with P411 and date-check, where accounts have been compromised, we just can never know who is coming to see us.
It sucks I know!!!
Be safe everyone!
Cute story. One sided but cute. I know at least a dozen of those were guys got in lot of trouble using real IDs. And those guys lost a lot more then just a laptop. Lost their jobs and some their families.
Nevertheless, entertaining story, thanks
We take a lot higher risk than gents. We meet more people than clients meet providers. This is a risk based business and it depends on what your willing to risk or not.
For example. I have figured around 10% review. If a lady has 150 reviews, do the math. That's New friends she is meeting. The chance of her getting in trouble for something increases dramatically than the friends she has met simply because the number of times she has had to go through the screening process, and nervous first time meetings.
Another point is, being too trusting with regulars. They meet others and can easily be snipped up and forced to inform just as easy as your brand new client.
Nevertheless, entertaining story, thanks
Know the laws in your state. In Ohio, it is illegal for the police to use your stuff (phone, laptop, etc.) that were seized during an arrest or warrant, without your signed permission. They have to get a warrant in order to force you to give up passwords, log-in names, etc.
Other states do not have this law. They can use whatever they seize against you, or against others, at any time.
Another thing to realize is that most states require a signature/permission from the 'arrestee' before using your phone, etc. Sometimes when arrested, providers and hobbyists won't be thinking straight, and sign over their rights to the personal info on their devices. This is how LEO can get inside the hobby community, and bust the more 'cautious' participants. This entire scenario has been happening in Indianapolis since the beginning of this year.
First of all, always immediately ASK FOR YOUR LAWYER if arrested. Don't believe their lies of 'leniency' for turning over your log-in credentials.
If, for some reason, they do confiscate and use your gadgets, GET THE WORD OUT ASAP to the community, using a hobby buddy or provider friend. No reason to get other people busted just because you slipped up.
Remember the sound of people's voices -- a simple phone call can determine if the person on the other end is who you remember seeing.
Don't let your guard down, and never let yourself feel 'safe and cozy' in the hobby. Well-respected providers and clients alike can get 'popped' at anytime, even more so if they start to slack off in their screening/research.
Ladies -- ask for a picture of new clients, when they book. Then, right before the appt, have the client take a pic of himself, using a unique hand-signal, sticking out tongue, etc., and make sure it matches the first pic you got.
In terms of ID, I don't think asking for ID would have helped the girl in this situation. The police obviously have an image of his DL from the arrest, and could have used that, and sent it to the lady.
