I grew up in Ohio, moved to NC 25 years ago. I have to chuckle to myself about all the fuss everybody makes over a half an inch of snow. Did everybody get their bread & milk yet? Unfortunately, my plan is to go to work, as usual.

Hoping to get back Wednesday, but that may be delayed. It wouldn't be so irritating if there was a sweet girl named Melissa here to help bye the time. Oh well, there is always the bar at Hay Adams to get warm.

I admit it.. I am a typical Southern girl.. This happens twice a year.. Folks complain.. Why not just embrace the beauty.. Take the time to relax, watch a movie, paint the walls or cook or whatever..

Ha, I was also the same kid who was relieved to be grounded because I was exhausted. This may explain much..

Seriously.. Tired of hearing folks complain.. It really is beautiful and does not happen often..

 Relax and just breathe..

I hope to take a few fun and cute pics of ME and the snow/Ice..

I can't be the only one?

I would love to snuggle by the fire.. but.. Um , I don't have a fire place and I don't drive in what is coming our way..

I have my cookies. Apple cider, Rum, A roast, coffee and candles..

 What is your plan?

I've got a date scheduled for tomorrow morning, and if I have to wear showshoes to get there, I will!  She doesn't have far to travel, but maybe I should get her a pair of snowshoes just in case...

Does Christian Laboutin make red soled snowshoes?   With his great heels?

Being from up north I like to giggle to myself along with all the other northerners as we watch grocery shelves go empty and entire towns close over a few inches of snow :)

Carolina all my life and I hate it when it snows on shopping day. Only had three times since I started driving that I could not go. But after crawling around on these back country roads I see why schools close. I would rather practice making babies (practice but not succeed ), than loose one over keeping a school schedule. Now to just get more practice.

I was surprised at how crippled the area was with the last storm that came through.  Being a northerner by  birth, this weather really doesn't affect me (other than make me miss home).  I simply go to work and continue to be amazed at how people complain about how terrible the roads are, yet continue to go out in it.  If it's that bad and you think public places/schools should be closed, why do you take your kids to the mall?  It's something a psychology student could write a thesis on.

I know what I did tonight though, and that was escape away with my most favorite regular since she was able to make some time for me after work.  It was a great way to end a fantastic week long vacation!

Back to work I go...
