So..this seems to be a Catch-22 to me.  I haven't seen anyone in this area, but a lot of the providers want a reference (which is understandable).  How do people get around this?

A lady that requires that your reference be local to her?  Most ladies, that I know, will accept references from any lady as long as she has some reviews, a website, etc.

"Some" ladies will work with you and accept an alternate method of verification. I would suggest that you pick your lady and contact her ... ask her if she will work with you ...

I agree with Desi, for a lady to require a local reference is flat out silly!! You can probuly come up with a alternate method however, whether it be work or something.. Once you DO see someone ask them if they'll be a reference fro you so you dont have to go through this with everyone.

Well, the first one I emailed, corresponded with me up until I said I didn't have any references so I assume that was the problem.

I've emailed/filled out forms/left vms for 2 others a few times and haven't gotten any responses yet, but since I didn't fill out the reference sections I was wondering if that was the problem or if I've offended them somehow trying to get on their calendar.

Being married and in the area, I'm a lot more hesitant to see people here so if I do see anyone its usually out of town on business and since they're very infrequent I have only one review here.

Thanks for the info.  The 3 ladies that I've tried contacting were the only ones who caught my eye at the moment.

I am one of those "girls", I hope this post was not about me... or maybe I'm not the only Companion who requests the Local Reference.

Ladies, I respect your opinions, and we each do what feels right, and I would not consider a safety measure that one lady chooses over another's "silly".

I could very easily say that by accepting references from out of town or state, of ladies you do not know or have never spoken with, a complete stranger, to be the determining factor of whether you are "safe" or not, is well... silly!

Again, we each have our own way of doing things, and whatever makes us comfortable, and feel safe - then that is what each of us need to do. I personally, only tale references from ladies I know or one of my many Provider acquaintances from around the country may know - just me!

Sir, you may want to consider Date-Check as a alternative as well, I myself, and many ladies I know accept this as a reference.

This post isn't about you or even if it was would NOT say so .  I'm not trying to start trouble or point a finger at anyone just trying to work through this.

You're also not the only one with this requirement or I think requirement as I've tripped across several and its a frustrating Catch-22 which spawned this question.

It seems very strange to me that it is easier for me to meet someone in a different state than my own but then again I don't do this often so it might just be me.

that each individual lady has to develop methods that suit her own level of comfort and the degree of risk she is willing to take.  For every lady whose requirements are too intrusive, there are many other ladies out there whose requirements can be fulfilled with less intrusion.  Yer pays yer money and yer takes yer cherce.
