O, for crying out loud!  I thought that I was doing well with this one---LOL
TV station in Wilmington---WECT6---Their(girls) pics are on that TV stations website:))
They should have gotten under the wing of Steph before going out on their own:))

To be honest I thought 16 was the age of consent but that's neither here or there.
I'm in total agreement for the protection of young women and the age of consent thing.  
But it seems pretty sad that an 18 year old boy could be prosecuted for consensual sex with his 17 year old girlfriend but yet a TV station & LE can ruin a 17 years old girls life for what appears to be an unforgivable sin by publicizing her name and picture.

God , our culture is Fd up.

Publishing names and pics of a girl that young is inexcusable.  
Pretty much gave her a life sentence for a minor crime.

Maybe I'm getting cranky as I age. But I think it sucks.

The really screwed up part is that the 17 year old has her life ruined and every one that saw her CAN be charged with sex offenses that if convicted will haunt them for life too. How can the same person be both an adult charged with prostitution and a child victim or prostitution? If she is considered a child in the cases involving her real of potential customers her lawyer should move for dismissal with prejudice based on a minors name being released to the media. LE and the media know better, they just do not care. Ratings drive everything, not facts.

In NC the age of consent for consensual sex is 16, if there is no money involved.  If you pay a 16 or 17 year old for sex, it is not just prostitution, but it is a felony.

That had been arrested and her name/pic/mugshot/info posted all over the news in her town.

Now, anytime she gets a new civvie job, it's only a matter of weeks before someone googles her, and finds the old news stories, and eventually she loses her civvie job or has to quit because of all the bullying.

It's sad, actually.

These types of arrests will tarnish your reputation and follow you the rest of your life.

What's worse is NC charges 16 and 17 YO's as adults and that really sucks to be a teen and have that shit follow you for the rest of your life.
