I'm copying & pasting a response I gave on another board here about why some ladies don't like DATY from clients (fyi I do...most of the  time lol):

1. Some guys have watched too much porn and think spitting on a vagina no matter how little is sexy or something (even sucking their teeth and obviously trying to go deep into their own throats/mouths for spit probably bringing food back with it).

2. Sucking hard on the clit or the hood of it like it's a piece of meat with no feeling.

3. Badly scruffy rough facial hair and those are the ones that love to rub their entire face around your vagina the most.

And to add on .... find a happy medium don't lick it like you're afraid of it either. I've had guys just kinda flutter the tip of their tongue at the very edge of my clit (not making much contact at all) until I had to say something along the lines of "you'll need to actually press your tongue on it a little bit more honey".

Listen and learn

I find that every lady is different.  The art of DATY is not developing a single style but is the search of the dance that the lady enjoys.   But I do have some general rules I apply at the first meeting.

First use the broad tongue and starting low work up and over to the top.  Repeat several times very slowly, do not work it too hard.  Do NOT insert fingers yet.  This prepares the canvas for painting. Listen to her breathing and feel her enter her happy zone. Rough never works until instructed to do so.  And remember she may not like rough.

Now finding the lil guy in the boat, start to write out the alphabet as if you are printing capital letters.   Here I sometimes am a bit too hard for some, so try and keep it light very light. Look for letters that seem to work.  After doing Z, with your broad tongue brush, slowly erase the alphabet and see if the juices are flowing.  If not repeat.

Increase pressure a little and do the alphabet again. insert one moist finger and locate the gspot.  Remember the ladies like the man with the slowhand.  You may humm that song in your head.  There should be more response at this time.  Note letters that give positive encouragement.

Once you have the letters you need repeat them as often as you can but keep clearing the canvas with broadstokes.  Increased pressure may now be tested.

Note abandon the procedure when given specific intructions such as "THATS IT" or RIGHT THERE.

From my experiences, keep it soft, and like Roadie suggested, keep your tongue broad.  Starting low and working your way up seems to work well, and very soft lip connection from time to time while your tongue works its way around.  Keep the tongue outside until the juices start to flow, then slide your tongue inside slightly when passing by.  By this time you can usually tell the spots that get the most reaction, so visit those places often.  Shave your face as smooth as possible and be very aware where your face/chin may contact.

Now I have no idea if this makes sense, but I have found that focusing on her strong side more (right side if she is right handed, left side if she is left handed), especially once she is worked up, seems to bring better results.  Let's see if this one sparks a few comments!
